Hedera price is under heavy pressure today, as it crashed around 6% and trading near $0.0826 as short-term technical weakness overwhelms a surprisingly positive set of network developments.
The decline looks more technical than fundamental.
Hedera has broken below both its 7-day simple moving average near $0.0853 and its 30-day average around $0.0943. The MACD histogram has also turned negative near -0.00186, while the 7-day RSI has fallen to roughly 36.2, putting HBAR close to oversold territory.
Trading activity has picked up sharply during the move as well. CoinMarketCap data showed 24-hour volume rising nearly 166% to around $194 million, reinforcing the idea that sellers have been active on the breakdown.

What makes today’s decline more interesting is the disconnect between price and underlying network activity.
Over the past 30 days, <a href="https://coinmarketcap.com/community/articles/6ad34cfd614ab63dcd4efdb8/" rel="noopener noreferrer">Hedera’s reported transactions per second increased</a> 168.37%, while total value locked rose 12.3% to approximately $33.2 million.
Hedera has also joined the UK’s Wholesale Digital Markets Champion Taskforce, a government-coordinated initiative focused on areas such as tokenized repo markets, collateral and interoperability. The group includes large financial institutions and is working toward a live trial targeted for 2027.
So the current selloff does not appear to be tied to deteriorating Hedera fundamentals.
Instead, HBAR is struggling with a weak technical structure after losing short-term moving averages and failing to maintain recent recovery attempts.
The nearest area I would watch is around $0.078, which has acted as a recent swing low. A clean break below that level could expose approximately $0.075. CoinMarketCap’s current technical analysis also identifies around $0.089 as the first meaningful recovery level if buyers return.
For HBAR bulls, the immediate problem is therefore not network usage.
It is <a href="https://captainaltcoin.com/this-hedera-chart-points-to-0-13-first-then-much-higher/" rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow">Hedera price momentum</a>.
Until HBAR can recover the $0.085-$0.089 region, improving TPS, rising TVL and new institutional initiatives may continue to be overshadowed by short-term selling pressure.
