President Donald Trump has signed an executive order establishing a dedicated cryptocurrency task force aimed at strengthening U.S. leadership in digital assets and blockchain innovation. The push puts crypto policy back on the agenda of things to watch in an industry that is being evaluated by businesses, developers and investors on its future path.

Digital assets are back on the agenda due to the new crypto task force for President Donald Trump and increased interest in blockchain applications. There are five different regions of a crypto market that one should watch as the US policy and adoption unfold, namely: XRP, Aptos, Pi Network, Hyperliquid, and Sui.

However, with Shopify recording an annual revenue of over $11.6bn, it has introduced more focus in the debate about the XRP Ledger. The revenue number, however, is not an indicator of investments or transactions involving XRP. Verification of direct commercial integration must be done based on reliable company announcements and/or official documentation. Given all of this, there are five altcoins that have emerged to meet the needs of a variety of use cases, such as payments, smart contracts, mobile crypto participation, and decentralized trading.

XRP (XRP): Blockchain Payments and Real-World Utility

XRP is still tightly linked with the XRP Ledger, a blockchain that is developed to assist with digital asset transfers and payments. The network could process transactions in a timely manner, which means that payment infrastructure is a crucial aspect of its use case. XRP watchers tend to be interested in things like adoption rate, regulatory activity, the liquidity of the crypto, and how many apps have been developed on the ledger.

The conversation surrounding Shopify has raised many eyebrows in terms of the debate around the established businesses and blockchain infrastructure. The reported revenue of Shopify, however, cannot be used to determine if there is any activity, and if so, how much, over the XRP Ledger. More concrete examples of network usage and commercial deployment of verified integrations would give greater credibility to the notion of commercial adoption.

The market liquidity and the competition from other payment networks also have an impact on XRP's outlook. When evaluating if the growing interest will translate into demand for the token, investors can track the activity on the ledger, exchange activity, and regulatory updates.

Aptos (APT): Smart Contracts and Application Growth

Aptos is a Layer 1 blockchain that is intended for the development of decentralized applications, digital assets, and smart contracts. It is written in Move, a programming language that was designed with a focus on asset-oriented programming and safety.

The network is also a competitor to existing blockchains in terms of developer/usage and application activity. Its long-term position will be dependent, in part, on whether or not projects can find regular users and not depend on the ups and downs of the market.

APT is being implemented in the Aptos ecosystem for several purposes, such as transaction fees and staking. They can look at the activity on the network, involvement in decentralized finance projects, developer development, and changes in the supply of tokens to assess prospects.

Pi Network (PI): Utility Beyond Mobile Mining

Pi Network became known for allowing users to participate in its mobile-focused cryptocurrency project. Its bigger problem is making that participation a viable economic action that has practical applications and can be readily used.

The success of the project is not just about the mobile application users, but also about its long-term value. Application development, merchant participation, network access and real-world demand for PI are all key metrics of success.

The more practical applications for the token the Pi Network ecosystem can prove, the more it may draw attention. But participation figures do not necessarily mean high demand and price fluctuations are also a factor.

Hyperliquid (HYPE): Decentralized Trading and Protocol Revenue

Hyperliquid is an on-chain trading platform in the decentralized trading space with a focus on on-chain perpetual futures and more. Its focus helps it sit in a market that traders assess on liquidity, execution, variety of markets available and the decentralized exchange costs for using them.

HYPE is the native coin of the platform and plays a crucial role in the platform's ecosystem. Investors examining the token can review a number of protocol activity & trading volume indicators, revenue indicators, token distribution analysis, and how protocol performance affects token demand.

Decentralized Derivatives Platforms compete with one another on the basis of the different markets available, liquidity, and trading experience. Hyperliquid will be able to keep users engaged during the less active times of the market, which can help signal their sustainability.

However, when trading volume can vary greatly depending on volatility. Other factors that could affect HYPE's business include regulatory uncertainty, competition and changes to the number of tokens supplied.

Sui (SUI): Network Performance and DeFi Expansion

Sui is a Layer 1 blockchain designed to enable decentralized applications, digital assets and smart contracts. Its object-oriented design and implementation in the Move programming language sets it apart from a number of rival networks.

Other applications of the Sui ecosystem are decentralized financial applications, blockchain games, and various other gaming protocol projects. Such involvement in these areas might drive up the transaction volume within the network, and bolster its prominence as a smart-contract platform.

The use of SUI for transactions and staking fees, as well as the development of the ecosystem, are key points to consider for the long-term. Investors can monitor the total value locked, number of active addresses, volume of transactions, number of developers participating in the network and the unlocking schedule of the tokens to understand the changes in network demand and potential selling pressure.

Sui is competing with the well-known Layer 1 networks, such as Aptos. Sustaining its growth will rely on bringing in applications that will keep users engaged and create real value for them in addition to short-term incentives.

What Could Influence These Five Altcoins?

Significant developments to watch include U.S. crypto policy and verified business integrations, as well as measurable adoption of the blockchain. XRP is associated with payment infrastructure, Aptos and Sui claim the smart contracts space, Pi Network is striving to be a more widely used network, and Hyperliquid is in the decentralized trading arena.

The projects have varying risks, token economics, and drivers of growth. When it comes to investing in a cryptocurrency, users need to consider the proven number of users, liquidity, the circulating supply, and market conditions, rather than simply relying on government announcements or company revenue as indicators of potential price increases.
