<h2 id="how-does-pheasant-network-bridge-handle-cross-chain-transfers">How Does Pheasant Network Bridge Handle Cross-Chain Transfers?</h2>
Moving tokens from one blockchain to another usually means trusting a bridge. The <a href="https://www.coingabbar.com/en/pheasant-network-connecting-ai-agents-with-cross-chain-finance" rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow">Pheasant Network</a> bridge is built to make that move fast and cheap, and to keep it safe through bonds and challenges.&nbsp;
This guide walks through it step by step using the official<a href="https://docs.pheasant.network/products/bridge/protocol.md" rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow"> bridge documentation</a>. Where a point is general crypto knowledge and not project documentation, the text says so.
Key Takeaways
<ul>
 <li>Three roles run the bridge: the user, the relayer and the disputer.</li>
 <li>Relayers pay out first and are repaid after proof, and fraud is punished by slashing a bond.</li>
 <li>Users pay a relayer fee, and a protocol fee is planned. A minimum transfer amount also applies.</li>
</ul>
<h2 id="span-span-style-font-size-16px-what-is-pheasant-network-span-span">What Is Pheasant Network?</h2>
Pheasant Network is an AI-powered DeFi Super App and an intent-based Bridge-as-a-Service (BaaS) protocol. Users can run cross-chain DeFi actions through simple prompts, and developers can add cross-chain features to their own apps. The docs describe its mission as creating public goods and contributing to the wider blockchain ecosystem.
The <a href="https://www.coingabbar.com/en/pheasant-network-roadmap-2026-key-milestones-and-future-plans" rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow">official roadmap</a> shows how the bridge fits in. The Optimistic Bridge sits in Phase 1, next to Pheasant Network Universal Swap, which supports 30+ networks and thousands of tokens. Phase 2 adds the Intent Upgrade, which uses ERC-7683 for more reliable cross-chain execution. All three are marked complete.

<h2 id="span-span-style-font-size-16px-what-is-the-pheasant-bridge-span-span">What Is the Pheasant Bridge?</h2>
Pheasant Bridge is an intent-centric bridge protocol. It unifies Layer 2 networks and connects Ethereum with its growing ecosystem. According to the docs, AI-powered intent logic called “AIntent” reads the goal of a user or app and picks the most efficient and secure path.
The roadmap describes the <a href="https://www.coingabbar.com/en/pheasant-network-airdrop-how-to-claim-pnt-tokens-safely-in-2026" rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow">Pheasant Network optimistic bridge</a> as Ethereum Foundation supported infrastructure that delivers fast, low-cost transfers. Developers can also integrate it through the optimistic BaaS model.
In simple terms, it moves assets between networks, for example ETH from Optimism to Arbitrum.
<h2 id="span-span-style-font-size-16px-the-default-flow-step-by-step-span-span">The Default Flow, Step by Step</h2>
Most cross-chain transfers follow four steps.
Relayer deposits liquidity → User sends assets and submits a request → Relayer pays the user on the destination chain → Relayer registers proof and withdraws the user’s assets
<ol>
 <li>A relayer first deposits liquidity into the BondManager contract.</li>
 <li>The user sends the assets to the Pheasant Network Bridge Child contract on the source chain and submits a request.</li>
 <li>The relayer sends assets straight to the user’s address on the destination chain.</li>
 <li>The relayer creates proof of that transfer from its transaction hash and registers it. This proof lets the re-layer withdraw the assets the user deposited.</li>
</ol>
The user gets paid first, and the relayer is repaid afterward.
<h2 id="span-span-style-font-size-16px-pheasant-network-bridge-participants-span-span">Pheasant Network Bridge Participants</h2>
The docs name three roles.
<div>
 <table>
 <colgroup>
 <col width="69">
 <col width="533">
 </colgroup>
 <tbody>
 <tr>
 <td>Role</td>
 <td>What it does</td>
 </tr>
 <tr>
 <td>User</td>
 <td>Wants to move <a href="https://www.coingabbar.com/en/pheasant-network-tokenomics-pnt-allocation-and-utility" rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow">PNT tokens</a> from one network to another</td>
 </tr>
 <tr>
 <td>Relayer</td>
 <td>Accepts requests, pays users on the destination chain, then collects the deposited assets</td>
 </tr>
 <tr>
 <td>Disputer</td>
 <td>Flags suspicious activity and challenges a transaction’s validity</td>
 </tr>
 </tbody>
 </table>
</div>
Anyone can be a disputer, including users. A disputer must object within a dispute period of about 51 minutes. The docs explain that Ethereum’s BLOCKHASH opcode only allows checks on transactions from the last 256 blocks at this time.
<h2 id="span-span-style-font-size-16px-what-happens-in-a-fraud-case-span-span">What Happens in a Fraud Case</h2>
If a relayer behaves badly, the dispute process starts.
<ol>
 <li>A disputer points out the misbehavior and deposits assets to open a challenge period.</li>
 <li>The relayer submits evidence within a set time to prove it acted honestly.</li>
 <li>If the evidence holds, the disputer’s claim was false. The disputer’s locked assets are confiscated and sent to the relayer.</li>
 <li>If the evidence fails, or none arrives in time, the disputer can slash the relayer’s bond and reclaim the locked assets.</li>
</ol>
<div>
 <table>
 <colgroup>
 <col width="165">
 <col width="227">
 </colgroup>
 <tbody>
 <tr>
 <td>Outcome</td>
 <td>Result</td>
 </tr>
 <tr>
 <td>Relayer proves honesty</td>
 <td>Disputer loses the locked deposit</td>
 </tr>
 <tr>
 <td>Relayer cannot prove it</td>
 <td>Relayer’s bond is slashed</td>
 </tr>
 </tbody>
 </table>
</div>
The sequence diagram in the docs adds that the slashed bond also compensates the user and rewards the disputer.
<h2 id="span-span-style-font-size-16px-why-it-is-called-optimistic-span-span">Why It Is Called Optimistic</h2>
The optimistic mechanism assumes transfers are honest unless someone challenges them. This short explanation is general crypto knowledge, not from the docs.
That is why relayers deposit bonds and why a challenge window exists. Honest transfers move quickly, and cheating risks losing the bond.
<h2 id="span-span-style-font-size-16px-pheasant-network-bridge-fees-span-span">Pheasant Network Bridge Fees</h2>
The docs describe two fee types.
<div>
 <table>
 <colgroup>
 <col width="93">
 <col width="83">
 <col width="387">
 </colgroup>
 <tbody>
 <tr>
 <td>Fee</td>
 <td>Who pays</td>
 <td>Where it goes</td>
 </tr>
 <tr>
 <td>Relayer fee</td>
 <td>User</td>
 <td>The relayer, as reward plus compensation for gas costs</td>
 </tr>
 <tr>
 <td>Protocol fee</td>
 <td>User</td>
 <td>The treasury, with the community deciding how it is spent</td>
 </tr>
 </tbody>
 </table>
</div>
Relayers set their own rates, and users can pick the lowest offer. For now, Pheasant Network is the only re-layer. The docs expect market competition once multiple relayers are supported. The protocol fee rate is not set yet.
<h3 id="span-span-style-font-size-16px-the-minimum-amount-span-span">The Minimum Amount</h3>
Bridge transfers have a minimum amount. The reason is security. A disputer needs a blockhash from Layer 1 to slash a bond, and that costs gas. If the gas cost beats the reward, nobody has a reason to challenge a cheat. Since the reward comes from the user’s transferred amount, a minimum keeps the incentive alive.
<h2 id="span-span-style-font-size-16px-two-protocols-for-usdc-span-span">Two Protocols for USDC</h2>
USDC transfers use a second route alongside the optimistic one. The docs say Pheasant uses Circle’s Cross-Chain Transfer Protocol (CCTP) for these transactions.
<div>
 <table>
 <colgroup>
 <col width="153">
 <col width="235">
 </colgroup>
 <tbody>
 <tr>
 <td>Transfer size</td>
 <td>Protocol used</td>
 </tr>
 <tr>
 <td>Below a set threshold</td>
 <td>Pheasant’s fast optimistic protocol</td>
 </tr>
 <tr>
 <td>Above the threshold</td>
 <td>CCTP, switched on automatically</td>
 </tr>
 </tbody>
 </table>
</div>
The CCTP flow has four steps. The user burns USDC on the source chain, the relayer requests authorization from CCTP’s attestation service, minting starts on the destination chain, and the new USDC reaches the user.
<h2 id="span-span-style-font-size-16px-audits-span-span">Audits</h2>
The official documentations list two audits.
<div>
 <table>
 <colgroup>
 <col width="92">
 <col width="235">
 <col width="90">
 </colgroup>
 <tbody>
 <tr>
 <td>Auditor</td>
 <td>Category</td>
 <td>Date</td>
 </tr>
 <tr>
 <td>Quantstamp</td>
 <td>Bridge, L1 and L2 smart contracts</td>
 <td>09-28-2023</td>
 </tr>
 <tr>
 <td>Hashlock</td>
 <td>ERC-20 token <a href="https://www.coingabbar.com/en/crypto-blogs-details/ethereum-smart-contracts-guide" rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow">smart contract</a></td>
 <td>04-21-2026</td>
 </tr>
 </tbody>
 </table>
</div>
The Quantstamp audit covers the bridge. The Hashlock audit covers the token contract, not the bridge. The docs also say ad-hoc code audits and bug bounty programs are planned.
<h2 id="span-span-style-font-size-16px-points-to-weigh-span-span">Points to Weigh</h2>
Every bridge carries risk, and this one has some specifics.
<ul>
 <li><a href="https://www.coingabbar.com/en/crypto-listings/pheasant-network-on-kucoin-exchange" rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow">Pheasant Network PNT</a>&nbsp;is currently the only relayer, so decentralization is still a goal.</li>
 <li>The 51-minute dispute window ties back to Ethereum’s current block limit.</li>
 <li>Assets sit in smart contracts during a transfer, and bridges in general are a common target for attacks (general knowledge).</li>
 <li>Fees and minimum amounts apply, and the protocol fee is not yet defined.</li>
</ul>
<h2 id="span-span-style-font-size-16px-final-thoughts-span-span">Final Thoughts</h2>
The system is built on a simple trade: relayers pay first, and disputers keep them honest. Bonds, a challenge window and slashing give the design its teeth.
Anyone planning to use it should check the live app for current fees and minimums. Updates are best followed on the official website and docs.
