Anonymous Cat (<a href="https://x.com/search?q=%24ZCAT&amp;src=cashtag_click" rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow">$ZCAT</a>) is seeing renewed price momentum. The token is up 26% in 24 hours and 30% over seven days, lifting its market cap to $57 million.

Unlike many Solana (<a href="https://x.com/solana" rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow">@solana</a>) <a href="https://x.com/search?q=%24SOL&amp;src=cashtag_click" rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow">$SOL</a> memecoins, ZCAT trades against <a href="https://x.com/search?q=%24ZEC&amp;src=cashtag_click" rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow">$ZEC</a> rather than SOL or a stablecoin. It trades on platforms including Raydium (<a href="https://x.com/Raydium" rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow">@Raydium</a>). CoinMarketCap describes the token as having been created on the Solana launchpad StonkFun and paired directly with Zcash.
The pairing ties the token's fortunes closely to the price of Zcash, a link that has been central to the project's identity since launch.
<h2 id="how-the-3-tax-funds-zec-rewards">How the 3% tax funds ZEC rewards</h2>
The reward model is built on a transfer tax. A 3% tax on ZCAT transfers funds Zcash rewards for qualifying holders. CoinDesk reported on September 7 that most of the tax is converted into ZEC and distributed to wallets holding at least $20 worth of ZCAT, according to the project's dashboard.
At that time, about 2,320 ZEC, worth roughly $2.8 million, had been distributed across more than 470,000 payouts, CoinDesk reported. The payouts looked large partly because ZEC had rallied sharply, which raised the dollar value of each reward.
The mechanism carries clear limits. CoinDesk noted that the rewards come from other people buying, selling and transferring ZCAT, not from a business or investment that generates income. Payouts could therefore fall sharply if trading activity and liquidity decline. AMBCrypto's token profile likewise says the amount distributed varies with token activity and is not a fixed or guaranteed yield.
ZCAT is also not a privacy coin in the technical sense. It is a standard Solana token, so its transfers are visible on the public blockchain, and its link to privacy is thematic rather than cryptographic.
The latest move comes after a quieter stretch. CryptoSlate listed ZCAT at about $0.04 on October 3 with a market cap of $34.21 million. The current $57 million market cap suggests renewed interest in the reward model, though memecoin prices can reverse quickly and rewards depend on continued trading volume.
