XRP Ledger validator Vet has shared remarks from Ripple CEO Brad Garlinghouse explaining why the company contributed a significant amount of XRP to Evernorth and how the digital asset investment firm could use the tokens to support the XRP ecosystem.
Speaking during Evernorth’s closing bell ceremony, Garlinghouse discussed the potential for XRP Ledger-based services to create new opportunities for investors and institutions beyond simply holding XRP.
His remarks focused on Ripple’s commitment to supporting the <a href="https://timestabloid.com/most-powerful-fact-about-the-xrp-community/" rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow">XRP community</a>, Evernorth’s leadership, and the development of products that could generate yield through on-chain and off-chain activities.

<h2 id="strong-ripple-supports-evernorth-s-xrp-strategy-strong">Ripple Supports Evernorth’s XRP Strategy</h2>
Garlinghouse said Ripple contributed XRP to Evernorth as part of its broader effort to invest in the ecosystem and support the community. He explained that Ripple has pursued this approach since its early days, sometimes extending its investments beyond XRP as the company believes in a multichain environment.
“We do believe in a multi-chain world,” Garlinghouse said during the ceremony.
However, he also expressed confidence in the XRP Ledger’s ability to serve specific purposes within the digital asset industry.
“We think the XRP Ledger will be used in ways where it really shines and is unique,” he added.
Garlinghouse explained that Ripple wanted to support Evernorth because of its plans for the <a href="https://timestabloid.com/big-signal-for-the-xrp-ecosystem-heres-the-latest/" rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow">XRP ecosystem. </a>He also credited Ashish Birla, Evernorth’s leader, for his experience in strategy, talent development and business leadership.
According to Garlinghouse, Birla demonstrated these qualities at Ripple and continued to apply them after pursuing his own entrepreneurial ambitions. He described Birla as an extraordinary leader whose previous work helped establish a foundation that Ripple could continue to develop.

Garlinghouse also discussed how Evernorth could use XRP to develop investment opportunities and products for institutional participants.
He explained that investors could benefit from services that extend beyond buying and holding XRP. These opportunities could involve the XRP Ledger’s on-chain capabilities, alongside other activities conducted outside the blockchain.
“You’re going to see some interesting leverage and yield opportunities, some on-chain, some off-chain,” Garlinghouse said.
He expects these opportunities to offer distinctive features that could help position XRP for stronger performance. However, he did not identify specific products or provide a timeline for their introduction during the recorded remarks.
Garlinghouse also acknowledged the value of buy-and-hold investment strategies. He explained that such an approach could give more investors access to XRP, particularly those who cannot easily participate in cryptocurrency markets through traditional channels.
He described expanding access as a major step, while suggesting that additional investment products could offer participants more ways to engage with the asset.
<h2 id="strong-ripple-s-contribution-aligns-with-its-ecosystem-goals-strong">Ripple’s Contribution Aligns With Its Ecosystem Goals</h2>
Ripple’s contribution reflects its stated interest in supporting projects that can expand the XRP ecosystem. Through <a href="https://timestabloid.com/developer-says-evernorth-is-better-to-xrp-than-microstrategy-to-bitcoin-heres-why/" rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow">Evernorth</a>, the company could support efforts to develop investment strategies that combine XRP holdings with additional yield-generating activities.
Garlinghouse’s remarks placed particular emphasis on Evernorth’s team and its potential to develop institutional products using <a href="https://timestabloid.com/xrp-ledger-sets-new-record-trustline-transaction-filled-almost-entirely/" rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow">XRP Ledger capabilities.</a>
The initiative’s progress will depend on how Evernorth develops and implements these strategies. For now, Garlinghouse has made Ripple’s position clear: the company wants to support Evernorth’s plans while encouraging broader use of the XRP Ledger and creating additional opportunities for XRP holders and institutional investors.
