Lido Staked ETH

VanEck has withdrawn its SEC registration for a proposed Lido Staked Ethereum ETF, ending the firm's push to bring a liquid staking-based Ethereum product to U.S. markets under that registration. The withdrawal means the proposal is no longer advancing through the SEC under its existing filing, though VanEck has not publicly stated whether it plans to refile.

VanEck pulls its Lido Staked Ethereum ETF registration

The asset manager filed to withdraw the registration for its Lido Staked ETH ETF, according to SEC filings tied to the product. The proposed fund would have held Lido-staked Ether, giving investors exposure to Ethereum's proof-of-stake yield without directly managing staked assets. VanEck had previously pursued a related effort, as covered in earlier reporting on the SEC withdrawal request.

A withdrawal is a procedural action initiated by the filer, not a judgment from regulators. It means VanEck chose to end this particular registration rather than wait for an SEC decision, and the proposal carries no approval or denial on its record as a result. For related coverage, see 数据：VanEck ETF 钱包通过 Gemini 出售约1076万美元 BTC 和 ETH.

What the withdrawal does and does not mean

Withdrawing an SEC registration closes that specific filing but does not bar a future submission. The distinction matters: this is not a rejection of a staking-based Ethereum ETF by regulators, nor a green light. VanEck simply chose to remove this version of the product from the SEC's queue. The question of whether staking yield can be included in a U.S.-listed ETF structure remains unresolved through this action alone.

The broader debate over how staking fits inside ETF wrappers is ongoing. The tension between liquid staking protocols and ETF staking structures has been a persistent regulatory question, and VanEck's withdrawal does not resolve it in either direction.

VanEck withdrew its SEC registration for the proposed Lido Staked ETH ETF; this is a filer-initiated action, not a regulatory ruling.

A withdrawn registration does not prevent VanEck from submitting a new or revised filing for a similar product.

No reason for the withdrawal has been disclosed in the available filings; watch for a VanEck statement or a subsequent SEC submission.

CryptoBriefing reported on the withdrawal, and SEC EDGAR filings for the product can be tracked directly for any new submissions under the same or similar name. A formal statement from VanEck or a new S-1 or 19b-4 filing would be the clearest indicators of the firm's next move.

VanEck has been active in the ETF space beyond Ethereum. The firm has also been pursuing staking features in other products, including updates to its spot BNB ETF to incorporate a staking objective and amended BNB ETF applications alongside Grayscale. Whether the Lido Staked Ethereum effort resurfaces in a revised form, or is shelved entirely, remains to be confirmed by VanEck directly.
