A crypto project can lose its users, abandon its product or run out of money without its token disappearing from the market. The token may still trade, but that does not mean it still serves a purpose. For holders, the harder question is what remains when the service behind an asset is no longer there.
The answer depends on how the token fits into the project. If its main function is tied to a single platform, the closure of that platform can leave little reason to use it. Continued trading may keep the asset visible, but it does not bring back the service that made it useful.
This is a problem that adding more token features cannot necessarily fix. A project needs a product people want, and a business capable of keeping that product running. Without those foundations, a token’s utility can look more convincing in a project’s documentation than it does in practice.
<a target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow" href="https://asetqu.com/">ASETQU </a>is a BEP-20 digital utility token designed to serve as th e main driver of <a target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow" href="https://asetqu.com/">AsetQu’s </a>digital property ecosystem in Indonesia. That gives it a defined role within the project, but the real test is how that role translates into use. The token’s stated purpose alone does not establish how widely its functions are adopted.
The distinction matters because a token and the business behind it are not the same thing. A project may have a functioning smart contract but struggle to sustain its product. Another may offer a useful service without giving users much reason to use its token. Neither technical functionality nor a clear use case settles the question of long-term viability.
That does not make utility tokens inherently flawed. It means their prospects cannot be judged by token design alone. The product, the people using it and the business supporting it all shape whether its intended function can last.
When a crypto project closes, the token’s trading history may continue long after its original purpose has faded. For investors, understanding that difference is more useful than treating continued market activity as evidence that a project’s utility has survived.
