Evernorth's shares began trading on Nasdaq on Monday, putting about 473 million XRP (<a target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow" href="https://coinmarketcap.com/currencies/xrp/">XRP</a>) inside a listed company. Most of those coins came from Ripple and the deal's backers before the listing, and XRP slipped about 2% on the day.
The listing gave public investors a stock tied to coins Evernorth already held, so it brought no new buy order for XRP, crypto.news <a target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow" href="https://crypto.news/evernorths-xrp-treasury-goes-public-can-the-listing-lift-xrp-price/">found</a>. The company can become a steady buyer if its shares trade above the value of its holdings. That would let it sell stock to raise <a target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow" href="https://coinmarketcap.com/academy/glossary/capital">capital</a> for more XRP. On Monday, the stock traded close to the value of its XRP and cash.
Evernorth says it plans to put the coins to work rather than simply hold them.
"We would rather be a participant in this transformation than a spectator of it," Evernorth founder and CEO Asheesh Birla wrote, The Block <a target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow" href="https://www.theblock.co/news/business/2026-10-12-evernorth-former-coinbase-investment-chief-steer-473-million-xrp-treasury-nasdaq-debut-418225">reported</a>.
<h2 id="header-1">What Did Evernorth Bring to Nasdaq? 473M XRP and Cash</h2>
Evernorth closed its merger with Armada Acquisition Corp. II, a blank-check company, on Friday, the company <a target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow" href="https://www.prnewswire.com/news-releases/evernorth-completes-business-combination-with-armada-acquisition-corp-ii-302903875.html">announced</a>. Its backers include Ripple, SBI Group, Pantera Capital and Kraken.<tweet-embed url="https://x.com/evernorthxrp/status/2108662456906350657"></tweet-embed>
The company plans to lend its XRP, provide liquidity and run other yield strategies to raise the amount of XRP behind each share.
XRPN traded near Friday's close late Monday morning. Armada's shares had traded as high as $53 on Oct. 2 under the same ticker, StockAnalysis <a target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow" href="https://stockanalysis.com/stocks/xrpn/">data</a> show.
<h2 id="header-2">Did the Listing Add Buyers? Most Coins Arrived Before It</h2>
Ripple, a Ripple-linked trust and the deal's sponsor, Arrington XRP Capital Fund, contributed about four-fifths of the coins, the closing filing shows, crypto.news <a target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow" href="https://crypto.news/evernorths-xrp-treasury-goes-public-can-the-listing-lift-xrp-price/">reported</a>. Evernorth bought the rest in November 2025, at about $2.54 each.
Those purchases cost about $214 million, months before the listing.
A trade in XRPN shares moves stock between investors and sends no money to Evernorth to buy XRP, crypto.news noted.
<h2 id="header-3">What Are Traders Doing? Closing Leveraged Long Bets</h2>
XRP has fallen about 8% in a week, more than Bitcoin (<a target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow" href="https://coinmarketcap.com/currencies/bitcoin/">BTC</a>), though it is still up about 25% over 90 days. <a target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow" href="https://coinmarketcap.com/academy/glossary/altcoin">Altcoins</a> fell almost twice as far as Bitcoin in last week's selloff, Bitfinex <a target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow" href="https://blog.bitfinex.com/bitfinex-alpha/what-bitcoin-needs-to-reclaim-84500/">found</a>. XRP also sat out Monday's small-cap <a target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow" href="https://coinmarketcap.com/academy/article/altcoin-season-index-one-year-high">rally</a>.
XRP <a target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow" href="https://coinmarketcap.com/academy/glossary/futures">futures</a> open interest, the value of outstanding bets, edged lower over 24 hours. Most of the day's <a target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow" href="https://coinmarketcap.com/academy/glossary/liquidation">liquidations</a>, when exchanges force-close losing trades, hit <a target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow" href="https://coinmarketcap.com/academy/glossary/long">long</a> positions, CoinGlass data show.
A "long cleanup could happen first," CryptoQuant contributor PelinayPA <a target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow" href="https://cryptoquant.com/insights/quicktake/6accb6f6b3e204342cef70ed">wrote</a>, calling it "an opportunity for the price to gather spot liquidity."
<h2 id="header-4">What Would Make Evernorth a Buyer? Shares Above Its Holdings</h2>
At $17.06 late Monday morning, Evernorth's roughly 54.5 million shares were worth about $930 million, based on its closing filing. Its XRP was worth about $650 million, alongside $300 million in gross cash. The company could also spend that cash on XRP. Its closing announcement set out no purchase schedule.
Its new investment chief, former Coinbase Asset Management co-chief investment officer Hugo Jeandesboz, will run allocation and liquidity.<tweet-embed url="https://x.com/evernorthxrp/status/2109634173849747587"></tweet-embed>
For XRP itself, crypto.news puts the line at $1.37. Below it, last week's low near $1.32 comes back into view.
"Corporate treasury strategies can generate secondary demand if a sustained share premium allows repeated equity issuance and token purchases. A discount to asset value can shut that route," crypto.news's Rony Roy wrote.
