Resistance

Is Ethereum quietly building a floor or just catching its breath before another drop?
Nine straight sessions of fund outflows say sellers aren't finished. But a flat chart says buyers haven't left either.
After<a href="https://www.coingabbar.com/en/ethereum-slips-below-2500-etf-outflows-hit-542m-price-forecast" rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow">ETF outflows hit $542M</a> this past week, this Ethereum price prediction comes down to one tight range, and the ETH price is sitting right inside it.
<h2 id="span-span-style-font-size-16px-eth-price-today-current-price-and-24h-performance-span-span">$ETH&nbsp; Price Today: Current Price and 24H Performance</h2>
As of October 11, 2026, 06:18 UTC, the Ethereum price today is about $2,505, up 0.45% in 24 hours. The 24-hour range ran from $2,490.16 to $2,516.62. A spread of about $26. Tiny.
But zoom out and the mood shifts. ETH sits 49.42% below its $4,953.73 peak from August 25, 2025, according to CoinMarketCap data, and it's down 6.75% over seven days.
<h2 id="span-span-style-font-size-16px-trading-volume-and-market-cap-span-span">Trading Volume and Market Cap</h2>
Market cap sits near $306B. Trading volume fell 19.61% to $6.34B over 24 hours, which equals 2.07% of market cap.
Thinner volume means fewer hands pushing price, so any breakout here would need proof.
<h2 id="span-span-style-font-size-16px-why-is-eth-moving-today-span-span">Why Is $ETH Moving Today?</h2>
$ETH is stuck. The price bounced off $2,406.41 earlier this week. Then it stalled. Now ETH trades sideways between roughly $2,477 and $2,519.
No fresh catalyst has broken the range. ETF money keeps leaving, and anyone hunting for a spark can scan<a href="https://www.coingabbar.com/en/ai/crypto-news" rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow">AI crypto news</a> beside the flow data.
<h2 id="span-span-style-font-size-16px-ethereum-etf-outflows-how-deep-is-the-bleed-span-img-alt-led-by-blackrock-etha-fund-src-https-d3iuzwoiyg9qa8-cloudfront-net-webadmin-storage-public-commonediterimage-vlptwpb5hf2uvl6y0aumhtnib2n6duvqulb0pl9y-png-width-300-title-led-by-blackrock-etha-fund-span-span-span">Ethereum ETF Outflows: How Deep Is the Bleed?<img alt="led by BlackRock ETHA fund" src="https://d3iuzwoiyg9qa8.cloudfront.net/webadmin/storage/public/commonEditerImage/vlpTWpB5Hf2uVL6Y0aUmhTnIb2n6DuvqUlb0Pl9Y.png" width="300" title="led by BlackRock ETHA fund"></h2>
Ethereum ETF outflows have now run nine sessions in a row through October 9, 2026, and that's about $697M leaving in total.
October 6 was the worst day at $201.89M. Friday's drain hit $56.10M, led by BlackRock's ETHA fund.
Total ETF assets still sit at $15.71B, which is 5.18% of Ethereum's market cap, according to<a href="https://sosovalue.com/assets/etf/us-eth-spot" rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow">SoSoValue ETF data</a>. So the selling is real but contained.
A Whale Insider post on X claimed BlackRock sold $71.12M of $ETH. That number differs from the fund data, so it stays a claim.
<h2 id="span-span-style-font-size-16px-whale-buying-who-is-stepping-in-span-img-alt-per-an-ali-charts-post-src-https-d3iuzwoiyg9qa8-cloudfront-net-webadmin-storage-public-commonediterimage-46lhlszic6rbjfx0yredeyslgarb8c7aqgsvwlvb-png-width-300-title-per-an-ali-charts-post-span-span-span">Whale Buying: Who Is Stepping In?<img alt="per an Ali Charts post" src="https://d3iuzwoiyg9qa8.cloudfront.net/webadmin/storage/public/commonEditerImage/46LhLszIC6RBJfX0yrEDeYSLGaRB8C7AqGSVwLvB.png" width="300" title="per an Ali Charts post"></h2>
ETF money says bearish. Actually, not so fast. Whales bought more than 166,000 ETH over 72 hours, per an<a href="https://x.com/alicharts/status/2108860195489169554?s=20" style="font-size: 16px; background-color: rgb(255, 255, 255)" rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow">Ali Charts post</a> citing Santiment, which is roughly $416M at current prices.
So why would whales buy while funds sell? But volume hasn't followed, which makes this quiet accumulation rather than a rally trigger.
<h2 id="span-span-style-font-size-16px-ethsupply-and-top-holders-span-span">$ETH&nbsp;Supply and Top Holders</h2>
The circulating supply stands at 122.12M ETH, with no maximum supply.
The Beacon Deposit Contract holds about 91.94M ETH, or 75.28% of that, according to<a href="https://etherscan.io/accounts" rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow">Etherscan top accounts</a>. That's ETH deposited for staking, so it's far less liquid than exchange balances.
<h2 id="span-span-style-font-size-16px-futures-positioning-and-liquidations-span-span">Futures Positioning and Liquidations</h2>
Derivatives dominate $ETH trading, with $13.37B in 24-hour futures volume against $897.65M in spot. Open interest, the total value of live contracts, sits at $31.61B.
Long/short ratios lean long, at 2.95 on Binance and 1.85 on OKX.
Liquidations, which are forced exits on borrowed-money trades, hit $7.21M in 24 hours, with shorts taking $4.53M, per<a href="https://www.coinglass.com/currencies/ETH" rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow">CoinGlass futures data</a>.
Crowded longs on a flat chart can feed a flush. And with ETF money leaving, that risk deserves attention.
<h2 id="span-span-style-font-size-16px-ethereum-technical-analysis-ema-rsi-and-adx-span-img-alt-ethereum-technical-analysis-ema-rsi-and-adx-src-https-d3iuzwoiyg9qa8-cloudfront-net-webadmin-storage-public-commonediterimage-dhk7pnccb5jwy1u7u3bzj2wamqsd6yidmlb9s2ir-png-width-300-title-ethereum-technical-analysis-ema-rsi-and-adx-span-span-span">Ethereum Technical Analysis: EMA, RSI, and ADX<img alt="Ethereum Technical Analysis EMA, RSI, and ADX" src="https://d3iuzwoiyg9qa8.cloudfront.net/webadmin/storage/public/commonEditerImage/dHk7pNCCB5jwY1u7u3bzj2wAMQsd6yidMLb9s2iR.png" width="300" title="Ethereum Technical Analysis EMA, RSI, and ADX"></h2>
On the 1-hour chart, ETH trades at $2,507, wedged between the 20 EMA at $2,505.23 and the 50 EMA at $2,507.39. An EMA, or exponential moving average, tracks average price while weighing recent trades more heavily.
The 100 EMA at $2,534.72 and the 200 EMA at $2,581.01 sit overhead. The price below both keeps this Ethereum technical analysis bearish.
RSI reads 52.87, which is neutral. ADX, a trend strength gauge, sits at 16.19, and anything under 20 usually means no real trend.
And that explains the range. An<a href="https://www.coingabbar.com/en/buy-signal-on-bitcoin-ethereum-and-xrp-rebound-coming-next" rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow">earlier buy signal</a> from October 8 has yet to reach its $2,620 and $2,650 targets.
<h2 id="span-span-style-font-size-16px-ethereum-support-and-resistance-levels-span-span">Ethereum Support and Resistance Levels</h2>
$ETH support and resistance levels frame the next move. Support sits at $2,477.57, then $2,406.41, the zone that stopped the sell-off.
Resistance starts at $2,506.52, then $2,519, $2,580.60, $2,623.09, and the $2,739.50 high.
<h2 id="span-span-style-font-size-16px-ethereum-price-prediction-bull-base-and-bear-scenarios-span-span">Ethereum Price Prediction: Bull, Base, and Bear Scenarios</h2>
This $ETH price prediction leans bearish while $ETH stays under the 100 EMA. More coverage sits in the<a href="https://www.coingabbar.com/en/price-prediction" rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow">crypto price predictions</a> hub, and none of these paths are guaranteed.
<h3 id="span-span-style-font-size-16px-bull-case-span-span">Bull Case</h3>
Over the next seven days, $ETH could test $2,580.60 and then $2,623.09 if it breaks and holds above $2,519 on rising volume. A fall under $2,477.57 would cancel that idea.
<h3 id="span-span-style-font-size-16px-base-case-span-span">Base Case</h3>
Sideways trade between $2,477.57 and $2,519 is the base case while ADX stays under 20.
<h3 id="span-span-style-font-size-16px-bear-case-span-span">Bear Case</h3>
A break below $2,477.57 may drag $ETH toward $2,406.41, especially if outflows extend. Reclaiming $2,519 would invalidate it.
<h2 id="span-span-style-font-size-16px-ethereum-price-prediction-2026-can-eth-reach-5-000-span-img-alt-an-unofficial-fan-account-relaying-tom-lee-views-src-https-d3iuzwoiyg9qa8-cloudfront-net-webadmin-storage-public-commonediterimage-tkc7p998ic7btlirnqvijsngtrndtfvnspak8mfv-png-width-300-title-an-unofficial-fan-account-relaying-tom-lee-views-span-span-span">Ethereum Price Prediction 2026: Can ETH Reach $5,000?<img alt="An unofficial fan account relaying Tom Lee views" src="https://d3iuzwoiyg9qa8.cloudfront.net/webadmin/storage/public/commonEditerImage/TKc7p998Ic7bTlIRNQVIjsngTrNDTFvNsPaK8MFV.png" width="300" title="An unofficial fan account relaying Tom Lee views"></h2>
An unofficial fan account relaying Tom Lee's views claims $ETH could hit $25,000 to $50,000 this bull cycle and top $5,000 by year-end.
Traders price just a 4% chance of $5,000 before the end of 2026, per the same post. Unverified, so it stays a claim.
An $ETH price target of $5,000 would need $ETH to nearly double in under three months from $2,505. The Ethereum price prediction 2026 base case doesn't support that.
<h2 id="span-span-style-font-size-16px-risks-that-could-change-the-ethereum-price-forecast-span-span">Risks That Could Change the Ethereum Price Forecast</h2>
More ETF outflows could push any $ETH price forecast lower fast. A drop below $2,406.41 would erase the whole bounce.
Whale buying could fade too. And thin volume cuts both ways, since quiet ranges can snap hard.
<h2 id="span-span-style-font-size-16px-final-takeaway-span-span">Final Takeaway</h2>
The $ETH price prediction stays cautious for now. Below $2,519, sellers hold the edge, and $2,477.57 is the line that matters.
Whales are buying, funds are selling, and volume is thin. Eventually one side has to blink.
