Gnosis (<a target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow" href="https://coinmarketcap.com/currencies/gnosis-gno/">GNO</a>) said its xDAI bridge and Omnibridge now confirm deposits from Ethereum (<a target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow" href="https://coinmarketcap.com/currencies/ethereum/">ETH</a>) using Ethereum's Fast Confirmation Rule, cutting confirmation time from at least about 13 minutes to about one 12-second slot.
Gnosis said the bridges are the first production system to act on the rule on Ethereum mainnet, and that atomic transactions, in which a contract on Ethereum calls one on Gnosis Chain within a single transaction, are next.

<h2 id="header-1">How Ethereum's Fast Confirmation Rule Works</h2>
The rule gives applications an earlier signal that a block will not be reorganized out of the chain. It counts the attestations <a target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow" href="https://coinmarketcap.com/academy/glossary/validator">validators</a> cast for the chain head in each slot and marks a block fast-confirmed once it has overwhelming support and passes robustness checks, according to Gnosis <a target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow" href="https://docs.gnosischain.com/bridges/fast-confirmation-rule">documentation</a>.
Applications read those blocks through the existing "safe" tag in Ethereum's JSON-RPC interface, with no hard fork required, the documentation says.&nbsp;
The guarantee rests on two assumptions: attestations reach honest validators within about 8 seconds, and at least 75% of stake is honest and participating. If both hold, a fast-confirmed block is guaranteed to be finalized, Gnosis said. A replay of one year of <a target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow" href="https://coinmarketcap.com/academy/glossary/beacon-chain">Beacon Chain</a> data by ethPandaOps produced zero false confirmations, according to the documentation.
<h2 id="header-2">Gnosis Bridge Speedup Applies to Ethereum Deposits Only</h2>
The faster confirmations apply in one direction. Transfers from Gnosis Chain to Ethereum still wait for Gnosis block finality, about five minutes, and Ethereum-origin transfers fall back to regular finality during Ethereum hard forks or network instability, the documentation says. Bridge transfers can also take longer than 12 seconds end to end, it adds.
"A contract on Ethereum will be able to call a contract on Gnosis Chain and use the return value in the same transaction, with no bridge in between," the team wrote in the same thread.
Separately, Ethereum's Glamsterdam upgrade <a target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow" href="https://coinmarketcap.com/academy/article/ethereum-glamsterdam-live-sepolia-testnet">went live on the Sepolia public testnet</a> on Tuesday.&nbsp;
