Anonymous Cat ($ZCAT) has climbed 25% over the past 24 hours, pushing its market cap to around $57 million. The move offers some relief to holders, though it has not fully offset a roughly 30% decline over the prior month.

How the Reward Mechanism Works

$ZCAT is a Solana meme token launched through the StonkFun launchpad and built on Solana's Token-2022 standard. It charges a 3% tax on every transfer, converts most of that tax into Zcash, and airdrops the ZEC to wallets holding at least $20 worth of ZCAT. The setup creates what its community describes as a "hold ZCAT, earn ZEC" dynamic, though payouts depend entirely on sustained trading activity.

About 2,320 ZEC, worth roughly $2.8 million, has been distributed across more than 470,000 payouts. The ZEC rewards come from other people buying, selling, and transferring ZCAT, not from a business or investment that produces income. If trading volume drops, so do the payouts.

Rewards are automatically airdropped directly to holder wallets, with no staking, claiming, or wallet connection required. The amount distributed varies based on token activity and is not a fixed or guaranteed yield.

Privacy in Name Only

Despite its branding, $ZCAT carries no technical privacy features of its own. ZCAT is not a privacy coin in the technical sense. It is a standard Solana token, and Solana transactions, including every ZCAT transfer, are fully visible on the public blockchain.ZCAT's connection to privacy is thematic and financial, borrowing Zcash's name recognition and paying real ZEC rewards, rather than technical.

The token's earlier trajectory illustrates how quickly sentiment can shift in the memecoin market. ZCAT launched in early September and surged almost immediately, reaching a market cap of around $170 million before pulling back. The latest move to $57 million, while a near-term positive, still leaves the token well below that peak. As with all memecoins, volatility remains high and investors should proceed with caution.
