The mission schedule spans from 2028 through 2031 with annual launches planned. Rocket Lab characterized the agreement as the most significant single commercial contract in Electron’s operational history.
Synspective’s shares experienced a modest 0.5% increase following the announcement. The Japanese company’s total commitment to Rocket Lab’s Electron rocket now stands at 47 missions, establishing it as the launch provider’s most significant customer.

The launches will deploy StriX synthetic aperture radar satellites into sun-synchronous orbit. Synspective utilizes these satellites for its Earth observation network, delivering imagery and analytical data to both government agencies and private sector clients.
All missions will launch from Rocket Lab’s Launch Complex 1 facility. Neither organization revealed the contract’s financial terms.
Synspective has been systematically expanding its constellation over recent years. The addition of 20 dedicated missions provides the company with substantial growth visibility extending through the decade’s conclusion.

Peter Beck, founder and CEO of Rocket Lab, characterized the agreement as validation of the company’s track record. “Signing twenty launches in a single deal is a massive vote of confidence not just in Electron, but in the launch cadence, mission reliability, and orbital precision that Rocket Lab consistently delivers,” he stated.
Motoyuki Arai, founder and CEO of Synspective, reinforced this perspective. “Securing another 20 dedicated launches now gives us long-term certainty for our constellation expansion,” he commented.

Rocket Lab indicated this contract joins multiple multi-launch agreements executed during the current year. The company’s cumulative launch backlog has now exceeded 100 missions.
For a launch services provider like Rocket Lab, backlog metrics are particularly significant. They offer investors visibility into prospective revenue streams, despite payments being distributed over time.
Synspective explicitly stated the agreement won’t alter its near-term financial outlook. The company confirmed the deal will not impact earnings guidance for the fiscal year concluding in December 2026.
This clarification provides important context regarding immediate financial implications. The strategic value centers on long-term operational capacity rather than short-term earnings enhancement.
Synspective is listed on the TSE Growth market with a current market capitalization of approximately 186.4 billion yen. The stock maintains average daily trading volume exceeding 1.37 million shares, with technical indicators presently showing a Strong Buy signal.
Rocket Lab continues promoting Electron as its primary vehicle for small satellite customers, while advancing development of the larger Neutron rocket designed for heavier payloads. This latest contract ensures Electron maintains a robust launch schedule extending well into the 2030s.
Neither company has disclosed additional financial information, including total contract value, at the time of publication.
