Strategy, the business intelligence company known for holding large amounts of Bitcoin on its balance sheet, has added 1,666 Bitcoin to its treasury, bringing its total disclosed holdings to 847,666 BTC. The purchase was disclosed through a regulatory filing with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission, extending the company's position as one of the largest corporate holders of Bitcoin in the world.

Strategy's 1,666-Bitcoin Purchase Explained

Strategy acquired 1,666 BTC in its latest transaction, disclosed via an SEC filing. The filing confirms the purchase but does not include the specific acquisition price, the funding source used for this tranche, or the exact acquisition date.
Strategy has used a mix of debt offerings and equity raises in past purchases to fund Bitcoin acquisitions. This purchase follows a pattern the company has repeated over many quarters, steadily increasing its Bitcoin position through successive buys. Other companies have taken similar approaches; for example, Strive recently added 469 Bitcoin, reaching 25,000 BTC in total holdings.

Strategy's Bitcoin Holdings Reach 847,666 BTC

The addition of 1,666 BTC brings Strategy's confirmed total to 847,666 BTC. That figure represents an enormous concentration of Bitcoin held by a single publicly traded company.

Bitcoin's total supply is capped at 21 million coins. Strategy's 847,666 BTC represents roughly 4% of all Bitcoin that will ever exist. That level of concentration means Strategy's buying decisions attract significant attention from the wider market.

Strategy is not alone in building a corporate Bitcoin treasury. Earlier this year, both Strategy and Strive made combined Bitcoin purchases totaling $183 million as Bitcoin's price climbed above $85,000. A broader trend of corporate treasury adoption has also attracted institutional interest in vehicles tied to Bitcoin-holding companies, such as Brazil's B3 exchange listing DIGY11, a fund linked to Bitcoin treasury companies.

What the Expanded Bitcoin Treasury Signals

Strategy's continued accumulation confirms the company is not treating Bitcoin as a short-term trade. Each disclosed purchase adds to a treasury position the company has built over several years, with no public indication of plans to sell.

For everyday investors watching the crypto market, corporate treasury accumulation like this reduces the amount of Bitcoin available on exchanges. When large holders remove coins from circulation, the supply available to buyers shrinks. That dynamic is worth understanding, even if it does not predict short-term price direction.

Other companies continue to watch Strategy's approach. Genius Group, for instance, restarted an $827 million Bitcoin treasury plan after previously selling BTC to repay debt, showing both the appeal and the practical risks of corporate Bitcoin strategies.

The key takeaway from this purchase: Strategy has once again added to its holdings, and its total now stands at a confirmed 847,666 BTC, a figure derived directly from its SEC regulatory disclosures. The specific price paid per Bitcoin and the total dollar amount of the purchase are not available from the information disclosed at this time.
