The deal marks a notable step in Jasmy's broader push to commercialize its blockchain-based data infrastructure in consumer-facing applications.
<h2 id="the-money-twin-concept">The Money Twin Concept</h2>
The centrepiece of the partnership is "Money Twin," described as an AI-driven tool designed to act as a personal chief financial officer for everyday life. The product aims to help users manage their finances and assets through generative AI, while keeping full ownership of their data via Jasmy's Personal Data Locker (PDL) technology.
According to a press release from AppBank, the joint venture combines Jasmy's PDL data management infrastructure and AI execution capabilities with AppBank's product design, UI/UX development, and marketing operations via its AI media platform, AI BANK. <h2 id="why-the-pdl-matters">Why the PDL Matters</h2>
The Personal Data Locker is described by Jasmy as the physical manifestation of data sovereignty, functioning as a secure personal space where users store and control all their valuable information, with the power to manage how and when that data is used. Companies can only access and use a user's data after obtaining explicit permission, allowing users to track and control the exchange.
Jasmy Corporation is a Japanese project building a decentralized platform where individuals can own, control, and monetize their personal data, with the aim of establishing what it calls "data democracy," giving users sovereignty over their personal information in a secure, trustless environment.
The alliance addresses a tension that is becoming harder to ignore as AI adoption accelerates: the more capable and convenient AI finance tools become, the more sensitive personal and financial data they require. By routing that data through the PDL rather than centralised corporate servers, the partnership is positioning itself as a privacy-preserving alternative to mainstream AI assistant models.
Jasmy has previously partnered with Panasonic and Toyota on data and IoT-related projects, anchoring its position as a Japanese blockchain platform centred on secure data management, with reach across industries including automotive and consumer electronics. The AppBank MOU extends that infrastructure into personal finance and generative AI for the first time.
