According to the Kobeissi Letter, citing the Wall Street Journal, Trump rejected Iran's offer of a 7-day ceasefire. He reportedly told aides he expects to resume bombing after the November midterms.
Iran's offer would have reopened the Strait of Hormuz and restarted nuclear talks in exchange for lifting the US port blockade. Today marks day 209 of the conflict, and Trump said that Iran will meet his terms.

The exchange says the vulnerability is fixed and withdrawals resume in phases: BTC on September 28, ETH on September 29, USDT on September 30, and other tokens, fiat and P2P on October 2, each at 08:00 UTC.

Per the Kobeissi Letter, the US 30-year yield hit 5.53%, its highest since June 2004, up 25 basis points in three days. US mortgage rates already sit at 7.45% and could pass 7.50% today.
On September 27, a US House bill to formally custody the government's Bitcoin holdings advances, treating BTC as a sovereign asset.

Expert Opinion: Market analysts note that this pullback stems from overlapping macro and security shocks rather than one single trigger. The liquidation data points to leveraged long positions bearing most of the pain, while the Bitget disclosure shows a relatively transparent recovery timeline compared to past exchange incidents. Rising bond yields remain a key risk factor to track alongside geopolitical headlines, since both compete for investor liquidity.

Conclusion

Why is crypto market down today? Bitcoin, XRP and altcoins fell together as Trump's Iran comments, the Bitget hack, rising bond yields and whale selling piled up. Watch September 27 and 28 for fresh catalysts. Nothing here guarantees a further crash or a bounce.
