CME Group has <a href="https://x.com/CMEGroup/status/2102389955167129614?s=20" rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow">announced</a> the launch of Bitcoin Cash and Uniswap futures on October 19, pending regulatory review. The derivatives marketplace is expanding its cryptocurrency product suite in direct response to client demand for regulated risk management tools across high-liquidity altcoin markets.
Both assets will be available in larger and micro-sized contracts, giving market participants flexibility based on position size and capital efficiency. The exchange is introducing both full-sized and micro futures contracts for Bitcoin Cash and Uniswap.&nbsp;
Significantly, traders can access standard $250 BCH and $10,000 UNI contracts alongside smaller $25 BCH and $1,000 UNI micro contracts.&nbsp;
<h3 id="h-why-this-matters-for-institutional-players" class="wp-block-heading">Why This Matters for Institutional Players?</h3>
The addition of BCH and UNI futures is not about two more tickers on an exchange. It’s about giving institutions the tools to manage price risk and gain exposure to key crypto networks inside a <a href="https://thenewscrypto.com/clarity-act-adds-cftc-rules-for-non-defi-crypto-protocols/" rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow">CFTC</a>-regulated, 24/7 marketplace, without the custody and counterparty risks that come with unregulated venues.
Giovanni Vicioso, Global Head of Cryptocurrency Products at CME Group, <a href="https://www.cmegroup.com/media-room/press-releases/2026/9/22/cme_group_to_expandcryptoderivativessuitewithbitcoincashandunisw.html" rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow">pointed out</a>:

In addition, <a href="https://thenewscrypto.com/cftc-seeks-dismissal-of-cmes-kalshi-bitcoin-futures-lawsuit/" rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow">CME</a>‘s crypto suite is already performing at scale. In H1 2026, futures and options averaged 279,800 contracts per day, equivalent to $8.3 billion in notional value, with average open interest of 264,600 contracts at $15.4 billion notional.
The 2026 expansion into Cardano, Chainlink, Stellar, Avalanche, and Sui futures has already contributed more than $1 billion in total notional value year-to-date. BCH and UNI are joining a product suite that’s been built out steadily and is clearly gaining traction with institutional participants.
<h3 id="h-what-it-means-for-bch-and-uni" class="wp-block-heading">What It Means for BCH and UNI?</h3>
For both assets, CME listing is a credibility signal. Moreover, it brings regulated price discovery, institutional liquidity, and a legitimate derivatives market, factors that historically support longer-term price stability and broader adoption.
Furthermore, Volatility Shares CEO Justin Young highlighted that the introduction of Bitcoin Cash and Uniswap futures expands CME Group’s regulated crypto product suite.&nbsp;
He noted that these new offerings afford market participants greater flexibility to gain asset exposure, execute risk-management strategies, and express market views within a compliant exchange framework.
