Brandt's Long-Term Chart Points to $5.40

Veteran trader Peter Brandt has published a long-term monthly chart of $XRP suggesting the token could eventually reach $5.40, a level that would represent a gain of more than 250% from where it traded when he shared the analysis. Brandt, a technical analyst with nearly 50 years of experience, was careful to note that presenting a chart is not a trade recommendation or a "call."He entered the commodity trading business in 1976 and founded Factor Trading in 1980, where he focused primarily on proprietary capital.

Brandt shared a long-term monthly chart of XRP on X, projecting an "eventual advance" to $5.40, citing trend channels and moving averages. He predicts XRP's price could rise above the key $5 level by next year, driven by renewed momentum in the broader cryptocurrency market. The $5.40 target remains a technical projection derived from chart structure rather than a fundamental catalyst, and Brandt himself drew a clear distinction between a public forecast and an executed trade.

Broader Market Rally Adds Fuel

The chart was published against a backdrop of recovering crypto markets. Bitcoin recently rallied to an eight-month high near $87,000, boosting overall market sentiment.XRP climbed 8.7% during the session, marking one of the token's more pronounced daily moves in recent weeks.XRP climbed above $1.50 amid increased on-chain activity and growing interest from large holders.

Short interest in XRP perpetuals had reached its highest level since April, and a squeeze amplified the move.Ripple's continued institutional momentum, including the Hidden Road integration going live and RLUSD gaining traction as a settlement layer, provided a fundamental backdrop that distinguished this rally.

Despite the enthusiasm, the path to $5 is not straightforward. Regulatory uncertainty, relatively modest ETF absorption compared to Bitcoin, and Ripple's billion-XRP monthly escrow releases have weighed on XRP. The gap with Bitcoin closes only when real demand absorbs scheduled supply, a challenge made harder by the fact that a significant portion of holders remain underwater above $2, creating a stubborn seller wall.

As always, chart-based price targets are one input among many. It remains standard practice among market participants to treat such targets as one consideration rather than a guaranteed outcome, as technical analysis relies on historical price behavior and pattern recognition, not on fundamental catalysts.
