LINK currently trades near $10.88, hovering at a critical support zone between $10.85 and $10.90

Senate blocked advancement of the Digital Asset Market CLARITY Act in a crucial vote

The daily Relative Strength Index has declined to approximately 46 from overbought territory above 80 recorded in August

Wyoming’s Stable Token Commission integrated Chainlink Proof of Reserve technology for the FRNT stable token

Critical price levels to monitor include resistance at $11.50–$12 and support near $10

The Chainlink token finds itself positioned at a technically significant price point around $10.87, pulling back from its September peak that exceeded $13. This decline coincides with regulatory headwinds emerging from the nation’s capital that have impacted the wider cryptocurrency sector.

As of Wednesday, LINK exchanged hands at approximately $10.88, showing minimal daily movement while remaining substantially below its recent peak prices. The $10.85–$10.90 price range represents a historically important area that formerly served as a barrier before LINK’s upward breakout in the final days of August.

This zone warrants close attention from traders. Should LINK maintain support at these levels, it would suggest a successful conversion of previous resistance into a new floor. Conversely, a decisive drop beneath $10.85 would potentially jeopardize the bullish structure established during August’s breakout.

Technical momentum has cooled considerably from recent extremes. The daily RSI indicator currently registers near 46, representing a substantial decline from the readings above 80 witnessed during August’s surge. This suggests overbought pressure has dissipated, although bullish forces have yet to reassert dominance.

Senate Blocks Digital Asset Legislation

The regulatory landscape became more uncertain on Tuesday when the U.S. Senate could not secure the necessary 60-vote threshold to move forward with the Digital Asset Market CLARITY Act. This proposed legislation sought to establish a comprehensive federal structure for digital assets while delineating regulatory authority between the SEC and CFTC.

The unsuccessful vote triggered declines across Bitcoin and cryptocurrency-focused equities. Major players including Coinbase, Circle, and additional crypto stocks experienced downward pressure.

The regulatory uncertainty carries particular significance for Chainlink compared to numerous other digital assets. LINK’s fundamental value proposition centers on enabling institutional blockchain integration, facilitating tokenization of tangible assets, and bridging legacy financial systems with distributed ledger technology.

According to Reuters, procedural mechanisms exist that might permit reconsideration of the legislation, though the pathway toward comprehensive regulatory frameworks has become significantly more uncertain.

Institutional Integration Continues to Grow

Despite regulatory setbacks in Washington, Chainlink has maintained momentum in expanding its institutional infrastructure partnerships. In early May, Wyoming’s Stable Token Commission incorporated Chainlink Proof of Reserve technology for its Frontier Stable Token (FRNT). This implementation enables real-time onchain validation of the reserve assets supporting the government-issued digital token.

Additionally, Wyoming transitioned FRNT’s cross-chain capabilities to Chainlink’s Cross-Chain Interoperability Protocol (CCIP) during August, designating it as the sole cross-chain infrastructure following comprehensive security evaluation.

Technical Picture and Price Levels

From a chart analysis perspective, $10.87 represents the critical threshold at present. Maintaining support above this level keeps the $11.50–$12 resistance zone within reach. The September high surpassing $13 marks the next significant overhead resistance barrier.

Should LINK close below $10.85 on a daily timeframe, it could trigger a more substantial correction toward the $10 region, where an ascending trendline provides additional technical support on the daily chart.

LINK currently occupies a unique position where expanding institutional utilization meets heightened regulatory ambiguity in the aftermath of Tuesday’s Senate decision.
