Bitget has added CFD trading support to its API, exposing gold, foreign exchange and stock indices to programmatic access through 16 new endpoints announced in its September 10, 2026 developer changelog, extending a derivative product the exchange first opened to invited users in December 2025 rather than launching a new market.

The Bitget API CFD trading update, documented in the exchange's September 2026 changelog, adds 16 endpoints spanning market data, trade execution, position management and account operations, formalizing developer access to contracts-for-difference that reference traditional assets. The move routes TradFi-style exposure through the same unified trading API crypto quants already use, a bridge that matters more for institutional desks running automated strategies than for the underlying instruments, which predate this release.
The endpoints cover CFD instrument information, ticker data and historical candlestick queries on the market-data side, while trading functions include placing, modifying and canceling orders, viewing order history, and closing individual or all CFD positions, per the changelog. Account operations round out the set with fund details, financial records, transfers to and from a CFD account, and transfer records.
The addition sits against a backdrop where exchanges are steadily merging synthetic TradFi exposure into crypto-native rails; Bitget itself already offers EUR/USD, USD/JPY and GBP/USD forex perpetuals, and the CFD API extends that TradFi push into a distinct, USD-settled product line.
Gold, foreign exchange and stock indices: the named CFD markets

Bitget's official product documentation identifies the asset classes reachable through the CFD product, drawn from the same catalog the API now addresses. These are examples from issuer-published product pages, not a verified live API instrument inventory.

Gold CFDs

The product guide names gold as XAU/USD, giving programmatic traders derivative exposure to the metal's price without holding bullion, according to Bitget's product explainer. CFD access confers price exposure only; it does not establish ownership of physical gold.

Foreign exchange CFDs

On the forex side, the documentation lists EUR/USD and GBP/USD among supported pairs, mirroring the currency exposure Bitget already runs through perpetuals but settled through the CFD account structure.

Stock index CFDs

For equity exposure, the guide identifies the US30 and NAS100 index CFDs, which track index levels rather than individual shares. Stock index CFD support is not support for trading individual stocks, and the API does not confer ownership of index constituents.

What the changelog confirms and what still needs verification

What is confirmed is the endpoint set and its date: 16 CFD endpoints published in the unified trading API changelog dated September 10, 2026. Bitget's CFD API guide states that users must first complete CFD account opening on the Bitget website or app before trading via API, meaning the endpoints presume an already-provisioned account rather than enabling one.

API operations and integration requirements

Beyond the documented operations, endpoint-level rate limits, authentication scopes, supported order types and per-account instrument availability were not verified in primary documentation and remain details developers should confirm against live docs. Bitget's institutional API separately raised single-account throughput earlier in September 2026, but no SDK, trading terminal or API version was tied specifically to the CFD endpoints.

Funding, settlement and account access to verify

Bitget's original CFD announcement states that deposits use USDT, that CFD products settle in USD, and that the system automatically exchanges between USDT and USD during trading, per the December 12, 2025 launch notice that dated the invited-user public beta. That funding-versus-settlement split is the mechanical detail programmatic traders most need to model, since account balances and PnL straddle two units of account.

Eligibility and account access

Bitget's product pages require identity verification and proof-of-address before CFD access, and the historical launch cited Financial Services Commission oversight, though no regulator registry or specific licensed entity was independently verified. Current regional eligibility and jurisdictional availability are not specified and should not be assumed to be global.

Fees and contract terms

Fees, margin, leverage limits and trading schedules were not confirmed as current API terms; historical launch figures should not be read as live conditions. Traders and builders should treat cost and leverage parameters as unverified pending official confirmation.

BGB trades at $1.93 as sentiment holds in Greed

Bitget Token traded at $1.93 on September 11, 2026, down roughly 1% over 24 hours, with a market capitalization near $1.35 billion and 24-hour volume of about $11.8 million. The snapshot is contextual: no verified evidence links BGB's move to the CFD API addition, and the figures carry no exchange-provided last-updated timestamp.

Broader crypto sentiment sat at 56 on the Fear & Greed Index as of 00:00 UTC September 11, 2026, in Greed territory, a market-wide reading that cannot be attributed to this API release. The lens for builders is narrower than price: Bitget is competing to be the venue where a single API key reaches both crypto and synthetic TradFi, a positioning race that also shapes how exchanges court institutional and financial-services clients automating multi-asset flow.

Who can access Bitget API CFD trading?

Users must first open a CFD account on the Bitget website or app and complete identity verification; regional eligibility, fees and leverage terms are not specified in the available documentation and should be verified directly with Bitget.

The next concrete trigger for developers is Bitget's publication of endpoint-level rate limits, authentication scopes and a confirmed live instrument list, which would move the CFD API from documented capability to fully specified integration.
