Frgmnt, a stablecoin protocol built on Base, today announced a partnership with Anchorage Digital to expand institutional access to Frgmnt’s onchain stablecoin infrastructure.
Through the integration, institutions will be able to hold, mint, stake, unstake, and redeem fUSD within the custody and operational environment they already use to manage digital assets. The partnership provides institutional users with a more direct route to Frgmnt’s onchain stablecoin infrastructure without requiring them to establish a separate custody arrangement.
“Institutions should be able to access onchain financial products through infrastructure that meets their operational and custody requirements,” said Aurélien Roussel, CEO and Co-Founder of Frgmnt. “Our partnership with Anchorage Digital brings fUSD and sfUSD into an environment already used by institutional capital, making it easier for funds, corporate treasuries and fintechs to access and use Frgmnt’s onchain stablecoin infrastructure.”
Anchorage Digital is home to Anchorage Digital Bank N.A., the first federally chartered crypto bank in the United States, regulated by the Office of the Comptroller of the Currency. Its institutional platform provides digital asset services including custody, staking, trading, and settlement.
Frgmnt operates two related assets on Base: fUSD and sfUSD. fUSD is minted against USDC, with its backing deployed across selected onchain lending markets, making stablecoin capital productive from day one. Holders can stake fUSD to receive sfUSD and earn rewards generated by the protocol’s underlying strategies.
“Institutional adoption of onchain finance depends on combining access to innovative protocols with the security and operational standards institutions expect. Supporting Frgmnt gives our clients another way to access onchain opportunities through trusted institutional infrastructure,” said Nathan McCauley, CEO and co-founder of Anchorage Digital.
By supporting Frgmnt, Anchorage Digital is expanding institutional access to decentralized finance through an established custody and operational environment. The partnership also advances Frgmnt’s institutional distribution strategy by making its stablecoin infrastructure available through the platforms where institutional digital assets are already managed.
Frgmnt’s positions and performance metrics can be independently monitored onchain, with protocol data available through Frgmnt’s statistics tools and third-party platforms including Dune and DeFiLlama. Frgmnt has opened deposits in capped waves as the protocol has scaled, with its next deposit wave scheduled to open in September.
Institutions interested in accessing fUSD and sfUSD through Anchorage Digital can contact their Anchorage Digital representative or connect directly with Frgmnt.
