Almost none of the gain came early. DOGE was up just 0.9% on Aug. 17, then <a href="https://www.cointribune.com/en/doge-gains-over-21-in-august-but-its-downtrend-is-not-over" rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow">climbed</a> from roughly $0.069 two days later toward the $0.10 mark inside a single week.</p><p>The token peaked near $0.0996, about 44% above its August floor, before sellers turned it back at that psychological threshold. Renewed appetite for Dogecoin-linked investment products added to the bid. Derivatives positioning has since thinned, with perpetual futures open interest that <a href="https://www.fxstreet.com/cryptocurrencies/news/dogecoin-price-forecast-doge-pullback-extends-after-august-rally-to-three-month-high-202608281518" rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow">fell</a> to about 15.7 billion DOGE on Aug. 28, down from 17.3 billion six days earlier.</p><p>Daily trading volume contracted just as sharply over the same stretch, sliding to $1.5 billion from $5.2 billion on Aug. 23. <strong>John Isige</strong>, who tracked the positioning data, wrote that a sustained drop in retail interest would point to fading demand across the market.</p><h2 id="doge-price-levels-to-watch">DOGE Price Levels To Watch</h2><p>Momentum readings still lean constructive, with the <a href="https://yellow.com/learn/the-relative-strength-index-rsi-what-it-is-and-how-it-works" rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow">RSI</a> near 63 and the <a href="https://yellow.com/learn/macd-crypto-trading-signals" rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow">MACD</a> holding above zero. The 200-day exponential moving average near $0.095 marks the next barrier, while support sits at the 100-day line around $0.082. <strong>Bitcoin</strong><a href="https://yellow.com/asset/btc" rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow">(BTC)</a> traded near $78,000 through the closing sessions of the month, steadying the wider market.</p><p>Whether $0.10 gives way on a second attempt now sets the terms of the argument for traders. Another rejection would leave August looking like a bounce inside a longer downtrend rather than the opening leg of a durable recovery.</p><p>The month ended three consecutive losses for the token. Dogecoin fell 5.9% in May, then dropped 28.3% in June and another 3.4% in July, a stretch that pushed it to a 52-week low near $0.0679.
