September could become an important month for several major altcoins, although the reasons are very different for each project. Kaspa, Solana, and Hyperliquid enter the month with catalysts tied to supply, network activity, token economics, and protocol revenue.
BeInCrypto named these 3 among the altcoins worth watching heading into September. Kaspa stands out because its catalyst is less about a sudden network event and more about something that has been developing for years. Most of its maximum supply has already entered circulation, and the amount of new KAS produced continues to fall.
Solana has a different case built around network activity and changes to SOL economics. Hyperliquid completes the list after its HYPE price reached a new all time high, supported by protocol revenue and its token buyback system.
Here is a quick comparison before looking deeper at each project.

Kaspa Price Could Benefit As New KAS Supply Continues To Decline

Kaspa comes first on BeInCrypto’s list, and its token economics make it an interesting project to watch during September.
The KAS price was around $0.0282 when BeInCrypto published its analysis. That placed Kaspa roughly 87% below its $0.20741 all time high from August 2024. BeInCrypto presented a possible upside range between $0.035 and $0.045 under favorable market conditions, compared with a bearish range around $0.022 to $0.025.
Price alone does not explain why September could matter, however. Kaspa’s supply structure is one of the more interesting parts of the setup.
Some of the main numbers explain why:

About 96% of KAS is already circulating: Roughly 27.6 billion KAS has already been mined from a maximum supply of approximately 28.7 billion KAS.

No major insider unlocks are waiting: Kaspa followed a fair launch model without traditional venture capital allocations or large team vesting schedules.

KAS emissions decline every month: Kaspa’s chromatic emission policy gradually reduces block rewards instead of using Bitcoin style halvings every 4 years.

Only a small part of total supply remains: Roughly 4% of the maximum KAS supply remains to be issued.

That last point could become increasingly important.
Kaspa’s emission schedule means miners receive fewer new KAS tokens over time. Fewer newly mined coins can potentially reduce structural selling pressure if demand remains stable or increases.
Demand remains the critical part of that equation. Scarcity alone cannot force the Kaspa price higher if buyers are absent.
Kaspa also has network development working alongside its supply changes. The Toccata hard fork expanded Kaspa’s programmability and opened more possibilities around covenants, KRC 20 tokens, and applications built around the network.
Several factors could therefore determine how KAS performs during September:

Bitcoin and the wider crypto market: Kaspa remains sensitive to broader market direction, so another Bitcoin decline could pressure the KAS price.

Developer activity: Greater use of Kaspa’s newer programmable features could strengthen the utility case behind the network.

Layer 2 development: Progress from projects such as Igra Labs could expand what developers can build around Kaspa.

Cross chain infrastructure: Tools such as atomic swap protocols could make it easier for outside liquidity to reach the Kaspa ecosystem.

Falling mining emissions: Lower monthly issuance means less new KAS becomes available from mining.

September could therefore provide an interesting test. Kaspa already has the scarcity mechanism. The bigger question is whether demand can begin matching what is happening on the supply side.

Solana Price Enters September With Record Activity And Tokenomics Changes

Solana comes second, although its September setup looks very different from Kaspa.
SOL traded around $98.50 when BeInCrypto published its analysis after a weekly increase of more than 30%. The Solana price remained about 66% below its January 2025 peak despite that recovery.
Network activity provides one reason Solana remains worth watching.
BeInCrypto reported record on chain activity worth about $4.2 billion during July, up 13.5% from the previous month. Tokenized assets were among the areas contributing to that activity.
Several developments now form the Solana September case:

Network activity remains elevated: Solana continues processing heavy transaction activity across trading, payments, DeFi, and tokenized assets.

Tokenized equities are becoming important: Solana has developed into a major blockchain for tokenized stock trading and other real world assets.

SOL inflation could decline faster: Governance proposals could reduce the time needed for Solana to reach its 1.5% terminal inflation rate.

Fee economics could change: Another proposal could introduce a fully burned fee based on requested network resources.

Storage costs are falling: Agave 4.2 includes a planned 90% reduction in on chain storage costs.

Agave 4.2 could become particularly useful for developers. Lower storage costs reduce the amount of SOL needed to create and maintain certain applications or mint assets.
September also brings an important date for Alpenglow, Solana’s next generation consensus design. The Alpenglow bug bounty adjudication period is scheduled to finish on September 2 after developers reviewed hundreds of vulnerability submissions.
That leaves several things worth monitoring during September:

Whether Solana can maintain recent transaction activity.

Whether tokenized asset activity remains strong.

Whether proposed SOL tokenomics changes advance.

Whether Agave improvements deliver the expected benefits.

Whether Alpenglow development continues without major problems.

BeInCrypto placed $130 to $180 as a possible SOL price range under favorable conditions. A weaker market could instead bring the $75 region back into focus.
Solana therefore enters September with strong network usage behind it. The next question is whether that activity can translate into lasting demand for SOL.

Hyperliquid Price Faces A Major Supply Test Despite Strong HYPE Buybacks

Hyperliquid enters September from a completely different position because the HYPE price is already close to record territory.
HYPE reached an all time high around $83.27 on August 23 before trading close to $82.34 when BeInCrypto published its analysis. That left the token only around 1% below its record after a weekly increase of roughly 40%.
Hyperliquid’s protocol revenue and buyback system remain central to the HYPE argument.
Several numbers explain why the model has become important:

Hyperliquid controls a large share of perpetual DEX activity: Heavy derivatives volume produces substantial trading fees for the protocol.

Most protocol fees support HYPE purchases: The Assistance Fund uses protocol revenue to buy HYPE from the open market.

Cumulative HYPE purchases have passed $1 billion: The system creates recurring demand that increases when protocol revenue rises.

AQAv2 creates another revenue source: Yield generated from large USDC reserves can now contribute to the Assistance Fund.

The first AQAv2 payment arrives on October 3: September comes directly before the first expected distribution from the new system.

The AQAv2 framework could make the buyback structure more interesting.
Around 90% of cost adjusted yield generated from eligible USDC reserves is expected to flow toward the Assistance Fund. Estimates based on several billion dollars of USDC reserves indicate that the arrangement could generate more than $150 million annually under favorable yield conditions.
Hyperliquid still faces an important problem heading into September. Large HYPE token unlocks are entering the picture.
The main supply events include:

August 29 unlock: Around 14.18 million HYPE is scheduled for release.

Value of the unlock: The tokens were worth roughly $1.2 billion based on prices around the period.

September 29 unlock: Another comparable release is scheduled near the end of September.

October 3 AQAv2 payment: The first payment from the new revenue framework should arrive only days after the September unlock.

That creates an interesting contest between new supply and protocol generated demand.
Strong perpetual trading activity means more revenue can reach the HYPE buyback system. Large unlocks work in the opposite direction because additional tokens become available.
September could show which force carries more weight.

Kaspa, Solana And Hyperliquid Enter September With Very Different Setups

Kaspa, Solana, and Hyperliquid may appear on the same altcoin watchlist, although their September cases have little in common.
The differences are fairly clear:

Kaspa is mainly a scarcity case: About 96% of KAS has already been mined, and monthly emissions continue declining.

Solana is mainly a network activity case: Heavy blockchain usage, tokenized assets, and upcoming technical changes could influence the SOL price.

Hyperliquid is mainly a revenue case: Protocol fees create recurring HYPE purchases, although token unlocks remain a major risk.

Kaspa could be the surprise among the 3 because expectations around KAS remain relatively low after its deep decline from the 2024 record. Falling emissions cannot guarantee a Kaspa price recovery, but they continue changing the supply equation as the network develops.
