XRP ETF

XRP price has suddenly become one of the biggest winners of the latest crypto market recovery.
After weeks of frustrating and largely uneventful price action, XRP has exploded from its recent lows, gaining more than 50% and climbing to around $1.50. The token is up roughly 22% over the past 24 hours alone.
That is a dramatic change from what XRP holders had become accustomed to. For weeks, XRP struggled to generate meaningful momentum, even during periods when other major cryptocurrencies showed signs of life. We covered that weak price action several times as XRP repeatedly failed to turn short-lived rebounds into anything substantial.
This time, the move looks very different.
XRP has not only produced three enormous daily candles. Trading activity around the asset has also surged, including a record session for U.S. spot XRP ETFs and a major increase in XRP Ledger trading activity.
Popular analyst Floppy wrote that XRP had erased more than three months of negative price action in only three days and questioned the idea that the move is simply another bear-market accumulation rally.
The chart accompanying his post makes that argument easy to understand.
The move coincided with President Trump hosting crypto executives and urging Congress to pass the Clarity Act, which aims to establish clearer SEC-CFTC oversight of digital assets. CFTC Chairman Michael Selig also said the agency is prepared to develop its own crypto market framework if the legislation stalls, adding to expectations that regulatory clarity is coming one way or another.
With the SEC also advancing new fundraising rules and Coinbase CEO Brian Armstrong looking toward a key Senate vote around September 15, investors have become increasingly optimistic that Washington is moving toward a more crypto-friendly regulatory structure. That shift in sentiment has lifted the entire digital asset market, with XRP emerging as one of the strongest beneficiaries.

Floppy’s daily XRP/USD chart covers the period from May through August and shows just how persistent the previous decline had been.
XRP traded close to $1.50 in May before beginning a long slide. There were several recovery attempts along the way, but none managed to change the broader trajectory.
By mid-August, XRP had fallen back toward $0.98-$1.00.

Then everything changed.
The chart marks the current reversal with three consecutive bullish daily candles. The first carried XRP from roughly $1 toward $1.10. The second accelerated the move into approximately the $1.25-$1.30 area. The third produced another explosive advance toward $1.50.
In other words, XRP has recovered in three days what took roughly three months to lose.
That’s the point behind Floppy’s post. He doesn’t believe the magnitude and speed of the reversal look like an ordinary accumulation rally inside an ongoing bear market.
There is also an important technical level directly ahead.
The blue horizontal resistance on his chart sits at approximately $1.484. XRP is now testing that area after approaching $1.50.
That makes the current zone particularly interesting. Breaking and holding above roughly $1.48-$1.50 would mean XRP has not merely recovered the recent decline; it would also begin pushing beyond the upper boundary of the entire three-month range shown on the chart.
A rejection would create a very different short-term setup. After a 50%+ recovery from the lows, traders could easily take profits, especially around such an obvious resistance level.
For now, though, momentum clearly belongs to buyers.

XRP ETF Trading Just Exploded

Price isn’t the only part of the XRP market experiencing a sudden increase in activity.
Evernorth shared data this week showing that U.S. spot XRP ETFs recorded $125.2 million in trading value on August 20.
According to its analysis of SoSoValue data, that was the ETFs’ heaviest trading session since launch.
Even more striking is how unusual the volume was compared with recent activity. Evernorth says the $125.2 million represented approximately 10 times the ETFs’ 30-day average trading value.

A record day for XRP spot ETFs and the busiest on-chain trading day quarter-to-date this week, per our analysis of data from SoSoValue and the XRPL. The demand is showing up on a network designed for institutional scale: the XRP Ledger.

That’s an important distinction. A price rally can sometimes occur on relatively limited participation. Here, the XRP price surge is arriving alongside a major expansion in ETF trading activity.
It doesn’t necessarily mean all $125.2 million represented new money flowing into XRP — trading volume and net ETF inflows are different metrics. Still, the sudden increase shows that investor activity around XRP investment products accelerated dramatically as the price moved higher.
And the increase wasn’t limited to ETFs.

XRP Ledger Records Its Busiest Trading Day Since June

Evernorth’s data also points to a sharp increase in on-chain XRP activity.
Approximately 17.9 million XRP traded on-chain on August 20, according to the firm’s analysis. That made it the busiest day since June 5 and approximately 2.5 times larger than July’s busiest session.
The geographical breakdown also indicates that the activity wasn’t concentrated in one trading session.
According to Evernorth, activity compared with each region’s respective 30-day average increased by:

9.9x in Europe

6.9x during the U.S. afternoon

6.2x during the London-New York overlap

4.2x in Asia

The London-New York overlap accounted for 31% of total volume, very close to its usual 30.8% share. That matters because it indicates that the surge wasn’t caused by one unusual geographical pocket of trading. The normal distribution largely remained intact as overall activity multiplied.
Evernorth also reports that 96.6% of the measured on-chain volume cleared through the order book, with order-book volume rising sevenfold since Monday.
Put together, the numbers show a broad increase in XRP trading activity at exactly the same time that XRP price has staged its strongest recovery in months.

XRP Price Finally Gives Holders Something to Celebrate

The timing makes the current move particularly notable.
XRP’s price action had been painfully dull for weeks. Rebounds repeatedly stalled, the token continued drifting toward $1, and stronger performances elsewhere in the crypto market made XRP’s weakness even more noticeable.
Now the situation has reversed remarkably quickly.
A move of more than 50% from the recent lows, including roughly 22% in the latest 24-hour period, has brought XRP back to around $1.50. Three months of declining price action have effectively been erased in three days.
At the same time, XRP ETF trading has reached a record, and activity on the XRP Ledger has accelerated sharply.
That combination makes the current rally more interesting than price alone.

AI Agents Could Create Another Use Case for the XRP Ledger

There is another XRP development taking place away from the charts.
Chandler Fang, a former Ripple product lead and co-founder of Ripple-backed startup t54, said that more than one million AI-agent transactions have already been processed on the XRP Ledger.
The idea is to allow autonomous AI agents to conduct real-world commerce according to rules established by their users.
For example, a user could give an AI agent a defined budget and permission to purchase certain services or products. The agent could then execute permitted transactions automatically rather than requiring the user to manually approve every individual payment.
This is still an emerging use case, and one million transactions by itself doesn’t establish that AI-driven commerce will become a major source of XRPL demand. What it does show is another potential direction for the network beyond conventional person-to-person crypto transfers and trading.
For XRP holders, the immediate story remains much simpler.
After weeks of almost painfully quiet trading, XRP has finally moved — and it has moved fast. The price has jumped more than 50% from its lows, ETF trading has reached a record, and on-chain activity has surged.
Now $1.50 becomes the line to watch. If XRP can turn the area that capped the market in May into support, its three-day comeback could begin looking less like another temporary rally and more like a genuine change in market structure.
