KuCoin Token

KuCoin is rapidly reshaping its derivatives business, making one of the industry's biggest pushes into tokenized stock perpetuals as investor demand shifts beyond traditional cryptocurrencies.
A new report, published with support from CoinGecko, shows that the exchange launched 121 tokenized stock and index perpetual contracts in just over three months, transforming what was a non-existent product category before March into one of its fastest-growing offerings.
The expansion includes contracts tracking some of the world's largest companies, including Apple, Microsoft, Nvidia, Amazon, Meta, Alphabet, Tesla, AMD, JPMorgan, and even a pre-IPO contract referencing OpenAI.
The move comes as crypto traders increasingly seek exposure to traditional financial markets without leaving digital asset platforms.

The report suggests that KuCoin users are rotating away from the crypto market's traditional leaders.
Bitcoin and Ethereum's share of the exchange's top spot trading pairs dropped from 74.3% to 45.2% during the first half of 2026, as traders increasingly embraced altcoins, AI-related tokens, DeFi assets, and stock-linked derivatives.
KuCoin says the trend reflects a broader transformation in market behavior, with investors chasing new narratives rather than concentrating solely on major cryptocurrencies.

The report also highlights KuCoin's broader growth story.
The exchange now serves more than 45 million users across over 200 countries and regions, while continuing to expand its regulatory footprint through approvals including a MiCAR license in Austria and registration with Australia's AUSTRAC.
KuCoin also reported 44 consecutive months of Proof of Reserves reporting, alongside independent audits by cybersecurity firm Hacken.

Rather than competing on trading volumes alone, exchanges are increasingly racing to become broader financial ecosystems.
KuCoin's report points to growing investments in payments, compliance, reserve transparency, and tokenized real-world assets as signs that the next stage of crypto competition may be driven less by speculative trading and more by accessible digital financial infrastructure.
If the trend continues, tokenized equities could become one of the defining battlegrounds for crypto exchanges over the coming years.
