Avalanche's (<a style="text-decoration:none" href="https://x.com/avax" rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow">@avax</a>) on-chain fundamentals kept improving through the first half of 2026, with daily transactions and stablecoin supply both well above where they were a year ago. The odd part is that AVAX has not followed. The token trades near $6.60 for a market cap of around $2.85 billion, a long way from its old highs. That split between how much the network is used and what its token is worth is the real story heading into the back half of the year.Two metrics carry most of the weight here: transaction counts and stablecoin supply. Both point in the same direction, up, and both signal steady usage rather than a quick burst of speculation.<h2 id="span-span-strong-how-much-have-transactions-grown-strong-span-span">How much have transactions grown?</h2>A lot. C-Chain daily transactions have climbed from the low hundreds of thousands in mid-2025 to a routine 2 to 3 million in 2026, and early July produced a single-day spike above 6.2 million, a fresh record for the chain. Monthly transactions are up more than sixfold since June 2025. The C-Chain crossed 1 billion cumulative transactions in late January 2026, and about 43% of all activity in its history landed in 2025 alone. Through the first stretch of 2026 the chain had already processed close to 394 million transactions, nearly seven times the same period a year earlier.Artemis' AVAX dashboard shows the trend clearly: a base near 2 million a day through late 2025 rising steadily into 2026, then a sharp run higher in July. A few things are pushing it up at once:<ul><li>Stablecoin transfers, the single largest source. Stablecoin transfer volume on the C-Chain is up about 330% year over year.</li><li>Gaming, including the MapleStory Universe launch in May 2025.</li><li>Fees that usually stay below a cent per transaction after the network's recent upgrades.</li><li>Subnets and custom L1s adding volume outside the main chain.</li><li>Newer uses like payments, helped by the Avalanche Payments Collective now reaching providers in more than 150 countries.</li></ul><h2 id="span-span-strong-why-is-blackrock-s-buidl-such-a-big-deal-strong-span-span">Why is BlackRock's BUIDL such a big deal?</h2>The second core metric,&nbsp;<a style="text-decoration:none" href="https://bsc.news/post/understanding-stablecoins-how-they-work-guide" rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow">stablecoin</a> supply, is where the institutional money turns up. Total stablecoin supply on the C-Chain sits somewhere between $1.6 billion and $1.9 billion, depending on which tracker you use.The fastest-moving piece belongs to BlackRock (<a style="text-decoration:none" href="https://x.com/BlackRock" rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow">@BlackRock</a>). Its $BUIDL fund passed $900 million on Avalanche on July 12, roughly double the $464 million it held a week earlier. That is a 105% jump, about $436 million in new money, in seven days. BUIDL, the BlackRock USD Institutional Digital Liquidity Fund, holds cash and short-term US Treasuries, aims to keep each token near $1, and pays a daily yield, so on-chain trackers count it much like a stablecoin.Why does that matter for Avalanche? The move made Avalanche the second-largest chain for BUIDL behind&nbsp;<a style="text-decoration:none" href="https://bsc.news/post/what-is-ethereum-eth-how-it-works-explained" rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow">Ethereum</a>, and it made BUIDL the single biggest tokenized asset on the network. Counting all tokenized real-world assets, Avalanche now holds close to $2.1 billion in distributed value, up about 60% in a month, with BUIDL alone making up roughly 43% of that.<h2 id="span-span-strong-what-do-the-supporting-numbers-show-strong-span-span">What do the supporting numbers show?</h2>Active users add another layer, though the count depends on who is doing the counting. Daily active addresses on the C-Chain range from the mid-200,000s up to 740,000 across trackers and days. The exact figure fluctuates, but every source points in the same direction: engagement is far above where it started the year, with some measures roughly 20-fold higher.There is also a useful gap between&nbsp;<a style="text-decoration:none" href="https://bsc.news/post/decentralized-finance-defi-comprehensive-guide" rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow">DeFi</a> and tokenization. DeFi TVL sits in the low hundreds of millions and drifts with the market, while tokenized real-world assets are several times larger. That tells you where the recent growth comes from: institutional tokenization rather than DeFi speculation.<h2 id="span-span-strong-what-s-worth-watching-strong-span-span">What's worth watching?</h2>The case for Avalanche is easy to see. Very low fees plus institutional inflows set the network up for real-world uses like tokenization, cross-border payments, and gaming. But the same numbers carry the risks.Those low fees mean all this activity throws off very little revenue. Avalanche's on-chain fees have run in the low thousands of dollars a day, tiny next to the transaction count, which raises a fair question about long-term value capture. Much of the load is small stablecoin transfers, with a large share of $USDC moves under $10, so the network leans heavily on stablecoin demand holding up. Competition for tokenized assets and stablecoin issuance is also picking up across other chains.Then there is the price. $AVAX near $6.60 trades well below what its on-chain activity might suggest, a reminder that usage and token value can drift apart for a long time.
