$POL is sitting around $0.08060 right now, moving inside a tight descending channel on the 1-hour chart after cooling off from its recent highs.
Whichever way this Polygon price prediction plays out really comes down to which side of the channel gives way first, a question we also explored recently when looking at whether MATIC is ready to make its next move.
A clean break, either up or down, looks set to decide where POL heads next.

As per ChangeNow on X, POL just picked up wider reach after ChangeNOW confirmed the token is now live on its platform for instant swaps.
The listing calls out $POL's role as Polygon's native gas and staking token, the piece that powers payments, stablecoins, real-world asset activity, and DeFi across the network.
Moves like this usually don't shake up price overnight, but they do help liquidity and trading access build up over time, and they add to the broader picture of what's been fueling the surge in Polygon activity lately.
You can track thelive POL price as this develops.

Polygon Liquidation Data

The liquidation numbers fromPOL market data paint a fairly quiet picture over the shorter timeframes, though a longer-side bias starts to show up over the last day.
In the past hour, just $0.48 got liquidated, and it was entirely from longs, with nothing on the short side. The 4-hour window shows the exact same $0.48 figure, again for all longs.
Stretch that to 12 hours and total liquidations climb to $1.14K, with $738.46 coming from longs against $403.08 in shorts.
Over the full 24 hours,POL liquidation data shows $7.82K total, with $7.40K of that from longs and just $415.43 from shorts.
Basically, anyone leveraged long has taken the bulk of the pain over the last day.

Polygon Technical Analysis

$POL is currently forming a bearish channel on the 1-hour timeframe, with price coiling between a descending upper boundary and a descending lower one. boundary since the recent pullback kicked off.
It's a similar squeeze to what we flagged when POL was trapped 97% below ATH and buyers were testing their resolve at lower levels.
If the price breaks above this bearish channel and manages to hold there, the next resistance levels to watch are $0.08212, followed by $0.08338, then $0.08547, and $0.08635 further out if the move keeps carrying through.
If the price instead breaks down out of the channel, POL could find support at $0.07851, and if selling keeps going beyond that, $0.07552 is the next level worth watching.

Invalidation Level

This setup tilts bullish if $POL breaks above the bearish channel and holds with a close above $0.08212, which would open the path toward $0.08338 and higher.
On the flip side, a close below the channel and below $0.07851 would knock out the recovery case and shift the focus toward $0.07552, a scenario worth weighing against our longer-rangePolygon price prediction and 2026 outlook.

Expert View

As per CoinGabbar market analyst, POL is boxed inside a bearish channel on the 1-hour chart right now, and how this squeeze resolves should set the tone going forward.
A hold above the channel opens up a clear staircase of resistance at $0.08212, $0.08338, $0.08547, and $0.08635, while a breakdown puts $0.07851 and then $0.07552 back in focus.
With POL's role as Polygon's native gas and staking token continuing to expand through moves like this latest exchange listing, the fundamental backdrop stays fairly steady even while the short-term chart works through this indecision.
For a longer-horizon view, ourprice prediction 2028 coverage lays out where POL could stand further down the road, and readers tracking the wider ecosystem may also want to see howMorpho raised $175M from backers like Paradigm and a16z, since DeFi funding trends like that often ripple across Polygon-based protocols too.
