During a recent X Space discussing AI, privacy, and finance, speakers kept landing on a core problem. Public blockchains were simply not built to handle the next wave of automated finance.
AI agents are getting smarter, and on-chain analytics are digging deeper. Because of this, leaving balances, transactions, and strategies completely visible causes severe digital and physical risks. The speakers noted that this total transparency, which people used to view as a benefit, is now fueling attacks on crypto holders. Incidents spiked 75% in 2025, with France becoming a notable hotspot.
The main takeaway was obvious. If AI is going to safely operate in DeFi, the underlying infrastructure must keep sensitive data hidden while still processing computations. The partnership between Fhenix and SedonaFi makes this happen on Arbitrum.

Why "Transparent by Default" is Failing DeFi

Standard DeFi platforms run in plain sight. Anyone with an internet connection can look up your token balances, trading history, yield positions, and past contract interactions.
When you feed that public data into AI tools, it becomes a massive tracking mechanism. The X Space panel stressed that this much exposure is too dangerous, particularly as institutions and regular users start handing their capital over to autonomous programs.
Unless privacy lives at the base layer, even the best DeFi protocols stay wide open to front-running, stolen trading strategies, and real-world theft.

Fhenix’s CoFHE Solves the Computation Problem

Fhenix built CoFHE (Confidential Fully Homomorphic Encryption). It is a working version of Fully Homomorphic Encryption tailored for EVM-compatible networks.
Older privacy methods force users to move their funds into isolated systems. CoFHE does the opposite by letting smart contracts run math directly on encrypted data. Because of this, token balances, transaction sizes, and complex trading logic stay hidden, yet they still generate verifiable results on the blockchain.
Fhenix’s tech is currently live on Arbitrum and heading to other networks soon. It offers developers a highly accessible route to building private DeFi apps.

SedonaFi Puts Privacy in Users' Hands

SedonaFi plugged Fhenix’s CoFHE tech straight into its self-custodial platform on Arbitrum. The end product gives users access to yield-bearing finance where privacy is the main focus rather than a bolted-on extra.
The integration provides several key features:

Encrypted balances: Your money stays hidden from public block explorers but remains entirely usable.

Private portfolio positions: Your trading moves and asset splits stay confidential.

Hidden yield strategies: You can earn interest on your assets without broadcasting your exact positions to the entire internet.

Safe AI parameters: You can encrypt your spending limits and agent instructions, drastically cutting down the chances of getting exploited.

Since all of this runs natively on Arbitrum, users get the network's deep liquidity and high speeds. Nobody has to bridge their tokens over to an isolated privacy chain.

Why They Chose Arbitrum

The teams picked Arbitrum for a reason. The network has great developer tools, plenty of liquidity, and an active user base, and it supports the Fhenix CoFHE coprocessor with very little friction.
The speakers in the X Space made a great point. The crypto industry does not need another isolated privacy chain. We need privacy in the places where people actually trade and build. By mixing Fhenix’s encryption with SedonaFi’s app, they are making private DeFi a reality on a highly active Ethereum Layer 2.

How This Changes Things

Regular users no longer have to choose between keeping their assets functional or keeping them private. You do not have to accept total transparency just to use self-custody apps.
Developers coding automated strategies get a secure sandbox where their programs can run without leaking core instructions. Wealthy individuals and large institutions can finally use on-chain finance without painting a massive target on their backs.
Finance is heading toward a mix of automated intelligence and strict confidentiality. Fhenix and SedonaFi are laying down the exact tracks needed to make that happen on Arbitrum right now.

Final Thoughts

Public blockchains solved the decentralization problem. However, as tracking tools get sharper and physical threats rise, keeping data hidden is no longer optional.
The work between Fhenix and SedonaFi brings encrypted balances and private positions directly to Arbitrum using tested FHE tech.
This goes beyond a minor update. It is a major push to make on-chain money actually safe to use in the AI era.
