Arbitrum — ARB, enters an important week as a large token unlock approaches. Such events often attract close attention because fresh supply can influence short-term price movement. Recent trading, however, suggests buyers have not stepped aside. Strong technical signals and improving derivatives data continue supporting optimism. The coming sessions will reveal whether demand remains strong enough to absorb new tokens without disrupting ARB's recent recovery.

Token Unlock Brings Fresh Supply Into the Market

Arbitrum will unlock 92.65 million ARB on July 16. The released tokens carry an estimated value of about $8.53 million. That amount equals roughly 1.65% of the circulating supply. Market participants now watch closely for any impact on price action. The distribution will follow two main allocations. Around 56.13 million ARB will go to team members, future employees, and advisors. Another 36.52 million ARB will reach early investors.

Token unlocks do not always trigger immediate selling. Many holders prefer keeping allocations for future gains. Even so, additional supply can increase short-term volatility. Buyer demand must remain strong to prevent heavier selling pressure. Another development may strengthen long-term confidence. Arbitrum recently confirmed that part of network fees from Robinhood Chain and other Layer 2 networks will support ecosystem growth.

Around 10% of collected fees will return to the Arbitrum ecosystem. That decision creates another source of value beyond normal trading activity. Price action has remained surprisingly resilient ahead of the unlock. ARB recovered after dropping toward the $0.07 region. Buyers successfully pushed the price back above $0.09. That rebound suggests confidence has improved despite concerns surrounding fresh supply.

Derivatives Traders Expect Higher Prices

Activity across derivatives markets has also increased. Aggregated Open Interest climbed to roughly $60.9 million. More traders now hold active positions while waiting for the unlock. Rising participation often signals stronger interest during important market events. Funding rates also remain positive near 0.0083%. Long positions currently outnumber bearish trades.

Many participants continue expecting another move higher after the unlock. That optimism reflects growing confidence among futures traders.Still, traders should remain cautious. Heavy long positioning sometimes increases market volatility. Unexpected selling could trigger rapid liquidations across leveraged positions. Such conditions often create sharp price swings in both directions. The coming days will likely determine ARB's next major trend. Strong buying could absorb fresh supply without significant damage.

Weak demand, however, could encourage sellers to take control. Arbitrum approaches a major test as millions of new tokens enter circulation. Technical indicators currently support bullish momentum. Derivatives traders also remain optimistic despite possible volatility. Buyer strength will ultimately decide whether ARB breaks higher or slips lower.
