Expectations surrounding XRP have intensified once again after crypto influencer John Squire put out a brief but confident message about the token’s near-term outlook.
While the statement did not include any technical analysis or explanation, it quickly prompted a wave of reactions from XRP supporters and critics, highlighting the views that exist within the community.
Squire posted a simple message on X that read, “THIS WEEK, XRP IS GOING TO SURPRISE YOU.” The post immediately encouraged users to share their own expectations, with some expressing confidence in XRP’s long-term future while others remained skeptical after months of market volatility.

Several members of the XRP community responded with humor and optimism despite the token’s recent price performance. Patrick O’Brien joked that XRP surprises him every week because the price falls slightly whenever he buys more. He added that the declines only encourage him to continue accumulating additional XRP.
Another community member, identified as Rj, suggested that the market has already tested his patience over the past year. He wrote that XRP has been surprising him since last July and said that nothing catches him off guard anymore, adding that his conviction has only become stronger over time.
The comments reflected the mindset of many long-term XRP holders who continue to hold their positions despite extended periods of price consolidation. Rather than expressing concern over short-term movements, these investors indicated that they remain committed to holding the asset while waiting for stronger market performance.

Not every response supported Squire’s outlook. Some users questioned whether XRP would deliver any positive surprise during the week.
RM suggested that the surprise could instead be a decline below $1, presenting a bearish interpretation of the prediction rather than expecting an upward move.
Michael Allen Davis delivered one of the strongest criticisms in the discussion. He dismissed expectations of a significant XRP rally and criticized those promoting bullish price predictions. Davis also accused Ripple and its leadership of benefiting financially while long-term XRP holders continue to wait for meaningful price appreciation.

His comments reflected the frustration shared by some investors who believe XRP has failed to meet the high expectations surrounding the asset over several market cycles.

Although Squire did not explain what kind of surprise he expected, his post generated widespread engagement among XRP followers. The responses demonstrated the broad range of opinions currently within the community, from investors who continue to accumulate the asset during price weakness to critics who remain unconvinced that a major breakout is approaching.
With trading activity continuing throughout the week, many XRP holders will be watching closely to see whether the token delivers the surprise Squire predicted or whether the market follows a different path.
