Q32 Bio (QTTB) experienced a dramatic stock surge of approximately 60% this Monday following the announcement of encouraging 36-week topline findings from Part B of the SIGNAL-AA Phase 2a study. The trial evaluated bempikibart in individuals suffering from severe to very severe alopecia areata.

Shares climbed more than 63% during trading, elevating the biotech firm’s market capitalization to approximately $265.5 million.
The clinical study included 33 participants with baseline SALT scores ranging from 50 to 100. This represents a patient segment with minimal therapeutic alternatives, many having experienced unsuccessful previous treatments.
The study achieved its primary endpoint successfully. Results demonstrated an average 35.3% decrease in SALT score from baseline measurements in the prespecified modified intent-to-treat (mITT) evaluation.
Regarding response rates, 40% of participants achieved SALT-20 at the 36-week mark in the mITT analysis. Additionally, 44% of patients reached SALT-30 and SALT-50 thresholds. Remarkably, one participant achieved total hair regrowth.
Notably, 36.4% of study participants had received prior treatment with oral JAK inhibitors — currently considered the standard therapeutic approach. This background makes the positive response data particularly significant.
Participants received 200mg of bempikibart administered weekly for four initial doses as a loading protocol, followed by 200mg every two weeks throughout the subsequent 32-week period.

Regarding safety outcomes, bempikibart demonstrated a favorable profile with zero serious adverse events or treatment-related Grade 3+ incidents reported. Injection site reactions represented the most frequent side effect at 36.3%, though these were predominantly mild in severity and resolved spontaneously.
The company also concluded Part A’s open-label extension phase, which demonstrated sustained safety and either maintained or enhanced hair regrowth, validating the potential for maintenance dosing strategies.
Bempikibart functions as a fully human anti-IL-7Rα antibody that operates by inhibiting IL-7 and TSLP signaling pathways to restore balanced adaptive immune response.

From a financial perspective, Q32 Bio settled and terminated its approximately $6.8 million credit facility with Silicon Valley Bank on June 24, 2026. This action eliminates a creditor relationship as the company progresses toward advanced-stage clinical development.
Q32 Bio announced plans to pursue a registration-directed clinical program for bempikibart in alopecia areata treatment beginning in the first half of 2027. Complete findings from Part B will be shared at an upcoming scientific conference.
The latest analyst consensus on QTTB stock stands at Hold with a $10.00 price target.
