$BNB price today trades at $578 right now, up 1.15% over the past week, with market cap sitting at $77.97B. That steady price move comes alongside one of the bigger pieces of BNB Chain news this week: SK Hynix shares just went on-chain.

The Binance blockchain confirmed on-chain access to tokenized SK Hynix shares, traded as $SKHYon, through Ondo Finance. This launch lands right after SK Hynix's record Nasdaq listing, valued between roughly $26 billion and $28 billion.

Ondo Finance issues $SKHYon as a 1:1 backed token, meaning each token stays tied directly to real SKHynix stock. Users can mint or redeem at market prices any time, including weekends, and the token moves freely across chains through LayerZero, reaching Ethereum and Solana alongside BNBchain.

Trust Wallet is running a $100k trading competition tied to Ondo Finance, and it fits right into this same tokenized-equity trend. Six synthetic assets are live around the clock: CRCLon, NVDAon, TSLAon, GOOGLon, SPYon, and QQQon, all trading on BNBchain.

Weekend trades earn a 1.5x volume boost, and trading fees stay at zero until August 7, 2026. Prizes split between a volume-based leaderboard and holding rewards, with swaps required through Trust Wallet on BNBchain and a $10 minimum per transaction.
These tokens track stock and ETF performance rather than holding shares directly, so they carry market risk tied to each underlying asset. Anyone joining should check eligibility rules before trading.

The Binance Blockchain still ranks among the top DeFi ecosystems, holding roughly $5B in total value locked as of mid-2026. Low fees and fast transactions keep both retail traders and institutions active on the chain.
PancakeSwap leads the trading side with close to $2B in TVL and more than half of $BNB Chain's DEX volume. Venus Protocol handles lending and borrowing with about $1B in TVL, covering $BNB, BTCB, ETH, and major stablecoins. Lista DAO rounds out the liquid staking space with roughly $1.1B in TVL, offering yield through staked $BNB derivatives.

The blockchain also confirmed final details for BNB Tokyo, an in-person event on July 13, 2026, running as a side event during the WebX Conference. Two panels anchor the evening: one on what the next billion users will actually do on-chain, featuring Chloe Lo, Aria Mao, and Yutaka Hashimoto, and a second covering AI and infrastructure, with speakers from AWS, Binance Japan, and Pieverse.
Between the SK Hynix tokenization, the Trust Wallet contest, steady DeFi activity, and a live event in Tokyo, BNB Chain news this week points toward one clear direction: real-world assets and AI-linked infrastructure are becoming the chain's main growth story, not just a side experiment.
