Another senior executive has departed from the Ethereum Foundation’s upper management ranks. Hsiao Wei Wang, one of the foundation’s co-executive directors, announced via X that she is stepping down from her role effective immediately. Wang explained that, following a recent period of leave, she reassessed her priorities and future plans, prompting her decision to resign.

Wang conveyed that her decision came after a time spent away from her duties and that she believes now is the right moment to step back. In her statement, she emphasized the importance of evaluating her own direction and timing her departure thoughtfully.

Reflecting on her time away, Wang said she reassessed what she wants to focus on in the future, concluding that now is the right time for her to step back from her position.

This development follows the earlier announcement by Tomasz Stanczak, the foundation’s other co-executive director, who revealed plans to depart after facilitating the Swiss nonprofit’s leadership transition at the start of the year. The Ethereum Foundation remains a principal force in supporting the growth of the Ethereum ecosystem.

During Wang’s absence, board member Bastian Aue contributed to overseeing the leadership transition. With the departure of both co-executive directors, Aue is understood to have assumed a more prominent role guiding the organization’s direction.

Wang’s resignation is just the latest in a series of notable management shakeups within the Ethereum Foundation in recent months. In the past five months alone, at least eight senior figures are reported to have left the organization. This string of executive exits has fueled increased scrutiny within the community over the foundation’s priorities, governance, and strategic course.

These discussions are unfolding as competition from rival blockchains intensifies. Observers note that the focus on the foundation extends beyond personnel changes, encompassing broader debates around leadership and governance practices.

In her statement, Wang not only addressed her own decision but also reflected on Ethereum’s larger mission. Citing the contributions of many who have shaped the network, she stressed that Ethereum is bigger than any single position, institution, or era.

Wang underlined that Ethereum cannot be reduced to any one individual, organization, or moment, adding that its evolution is the collective achievement of countless contributors.
