Amid the broader selloff in the crypto market, XRP investor sentiment fell to its lowest level since October 2025.
As per the onchain intelligence platform Santiment Intelligence, XRP sentiment has fallen to its 8-month low.

"The combination of declining discussion volume and overwhelmingly negative commentary suggests that many traders have already moved on or lowered expectations significantly."

The sentiment regarding the cryptocurrency has "fallen off a cliff" due to price weakness, the platform said, but warned against blaming it on a single factor.
After years of anticipation surrounding its legal clarity and institutional adoption narratives, XRP traders have become fatigued by the lack of a major catalyst as per Santiment Intelligence.

Regulatory status of XRP

It was in December 2020 that the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) sued Ripple Labs for offering unregistered securities to investors via the sale of XRP tokens. Ripple claimed XRP is a digital currency, not a token.
In July 2023, Judge Analisa Torres ruled that Ripple’s programmatic sales of XRP on crypto exchanges didn't constitute securities transactions, but their sale to institutional clients violated securities laws.
It was a partial victory for both parties, but both decided to appeal the ruling. The legal battle went on for years until both parties reached a settlement in August 2025 following Donald Trump coming back to the White House.

Santiment Intelligence further claimed XRP tends to strongly rebound when the crowd becomes the most disinterested.
Even if enthusiasm is fading, development activity, XRP Ledger usage, tokenization initiatives, and institutional products continue to advance, the platform added.
As far as the crypto market is concerned, it is attempting a modest recovery. In the last 24 hours, the total crypto market cap has surged by 1.8%. During the same period, XRP has surged 2.5% to trade at $1.14 at press time.
