Major cryptocurrencies traded lower on Wednesday as selling pressure continued across the digital asset market. Bitcoin (BTC), Ethereum (ETH), XRP (XRP), Solana (SOL), and several other leading cryptocurrencies posted losses over the past 24 hours. At the same time, several smaller altcoins delivered substantial gains, creating a sharp contrast across the market.
Bitcoin (BTC) fell 3.0% to $61,483.65 while generating $37 billion in daily trading volume. Despite the decline, BTC maintained a market capitalization above $1.23 trillion. Ethereum (ETH) also moved lower, dropping 3.4% to $1,632.29 with trading volume reaching $12.86 billion.
XRP recorded one of the largest losses among the top cryptocurrencies by market capitalization. The digital asset declined 5.2% to $1.11 while posting $1.77 billion in daily trading activity. Meanwhile, Solana (SOL) slipped 4.4% to $64.28, with volume exceeding $2.65 billion.
Elsewhere, BNB dropped 2.9% to $586.40, while Dogecoin (DOGE) lost 3.1% and traded at $0.0837. Hyperliquid (HYPE) experienced the steepest decline among major cryptocurrencies, falling 10.6% to $55.36 despite recording more than $1 billion in daily trading volume.

While large-cap cryptocurrencies struggled, several smaller digital assets posted strong double-digit gains. Xertra (STRAX) led the market’s top gainers, surging 61.6% over the past day. The token climbed to $0.01314 while generating more than $154 million in trading volume.
Bitway (BTW) followed closely with a 60.2% increase, reaching $0.0884. Trading activity remained strong as the token recorded nearly $48 million in daily volume. Stargate Finance (STG) also delivered notable performance, gaining 59.4% to trade at $0.3941.
Audiera (BEAT) advanced 44.0% and reached $5.17. In addition, Playnance (GCOIN) and Humanity (H) each climbed 33.5%, outperforming nearly all major cryptocurrencies during the session. Velvet (VELVET) added 32.3% to trade at $0.4014. Meanwhile, SEALCOIN (QAIT) rose 24.6% to $0.02685, extending gains despite weakness across the broader market.
The latest market performance highlighted a growing divergence between established cryptocurrencies and smaller-cap tokens. While Bitcoin (BTC), Ethereum (ETH), and XRP (XRP) remained under pressure, several altcoins attracted significant trading activity and delivered some of the strongest gains of the day.
Wednesday’s trading session reflected mixed sentiment across the cryptocurrency market. Major assets continued moving lower, yet a group of smaller altcoins posted impressive gains, showing that traders remained active in selected segments of the market despite broader weakness.
