Strategy purchased 1,550 Bitcoin this week, sharply reversing course after selling 32 BTC just one week earlier. The net result over the two-week window is an addition of 1,518 BTC to the company's holdings.

Strategy flipped from a 32 BTC sale to a 1,550 BTC buy in one week

Strategy sold 32 BTC last week, a move that drew attention as one of the rare instances the company parted with any of its Bitcoin reserve. This week, the company disclosed a purchase of 1,550 Bitcoin, bringing its total BTC reserve to 845,256.

The two transactions, taken together, represent a net gain of 1,518 BTC over the two-week period. The contrast between the small sale and the far larger purchase underscores the speed at which Strategy's weekly Bitcoin activity can shift direction.

An 8-K filing with the SEC provides the regulatory disclosure backing the latest transaction, giving investors a direct paper trail for the change in Strategy's Bitcoin position.

Why the 1,550 BTC purchase carries more weight than the sale

The scale difference is stark. At 1,550 BTC, this week's buy is roughly 48 times larger than last week's 32 BTC sale. The gap makes the prior sale look more like a minor operational adjustment than a signal of reduced conviction.

Large corporate Bitcoin holders like Strategy tend to attract scrutiny on both sides of a transaction. The 32 BTC sale generated headlines suggesting a possible shift in approach, similar to how other major holders adjusting their crypto reserves can move market sentiment beyond the dollar value involved.

The purchase confirms that Strategy returned to net accumulation over the two-week window. It does not, on its own, indicate what prompted last week's sale or whether the company views the two moves as connected.

What to watch after Strategy's latest purchase

The next scheduled treasury disclosure is the key data point. It will show whether this week's purchase marks the start of a renewed buying streak or was a one-off correction following the prior sale.

Investors tracking institutional Bitcoin flows, including weekly ETF activity, will want to watch whether Strategy continues accumulating at this pace. A sustained run of weekly purchases in the 1,000+ BTC range would signal a more aggressive posture than the company has maintained in recent months.

Broader shifts in how digital assets trade on centralized platforms, such as new stablecoin listings expanding spot market liquidity, also shape the environment in which large buyers like Strategy operate.

For now, the observable fact is straightforward: Strategy sold a small amount of Bitcoin last week and bought a much larger amount this week. Future company disclosures, not speculation, will clarify whether the 32 BTC sale was tactical or routine.
