Former Ripple CTO David Schwartz has donated XRP to attorney John Deaton’s latest Senate campaign, strengthening support from the cryptocurrency community during a critical political period. According to reports, Schwartz contributed shortly after Deaton appealed for grassroots donations through social media.
Deaton remains widely recognized within the XRP community because of his involvement during Ripple’s legal battle against the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission. Consequently, Schwartz’s public support immediately attracted attention across the digital asset industry.
According to Deaton, his campaign does not rely on corporate political action committees or lobbyist funding. Instead, he stated that ordinary supporters continue financing his Senate bid through smaller individual donations.
Moreover, Deaton emphasized that many contributions range between $25 and $100. He explained that the campaign aims to challenge what he described as decades of traditional political influence.
Besides maintaining strong support from XRP holders, Deaton continues to expand his visibility across the broader cryptocurrency industry. His campaign also reflects the increasing involvement of digital asset supporters within American politics.

Crypto Political Spending Continues Rising Across US Elections

Deaton previously challenged Senator Elizabeth Warren during the 2024 election cycle. However, Warren secured victory while maintaining her criticism of cryptocurrency markets and blockchain companies.
Meanwhile, cryptocurrency-backed political organizations continue spending heavily across several important races. According to Politico, pro-crypto political action committees have committed millions toward candidates supporting digital asset policies.
Fairshake, a crypto-focused super PAC backed by Ripple Labs and other industry firms, reportedly spent approximately $28 million during several competitive primary campaigns this election cycle.
Additionally, a Fairshake-affiliated PAC reportedly spent nearly $40 million during the previous election cycle targeting former Ohio Senator Sherrod Brown. Brown had consistently criticized cryptocurrency companies and related legislation before losing reelection.
However, broader public sentiment toward cryptocurrency remains divided despite rising political spending. Reports indicated that many voters still approach digital assets cautiously, even as industry influence continues to expand. Consequently, Deaton’s campaign could become another major test of cryptocurrency’s growing role within United States elections.

Conclusion

David Schwartz’s XRP donation highlighted the strengthening relationship between cryptocurrency leaders and pro-blockchain political candidates. Moreover, Deaton’s campaign continues to demonstrate how digital asset communities are becoming increasingly active within American politics.
