@Ripple has secured sixth place in the 2026 Prime Unicorn Index, putting the blockchain payments firm in the company of some of the most valuable private businesses in the world, including SpaceX, OpenAI, and Stripe.

Where Ripple Stands in the Rankings

Ripple ranks sixth in the Prime Unicorn Index with a $26.09 billion valuation and a 5% weighting, while SpaceX leads the index at $1.253 trillion and OpenAI follows with a $917.31 billion valuation.Anthropic ranked third with $332.37 billion, Databricks took fourth place with $152.34 billion, and Anduril Industries came fifth at $58.19 billion.
The Prime Unicorn Index, published by Lagniappe Labs, tracks the share price performance of U.S. private companies worth at least $1 billion and uses a modified market capitalization model, acting as a benchmark for financial products tied to private companies.
It is worth noting a distinction in Ripple's valuation figures. In March 2026, Ripple launched a $750 million share buyback and tender offer that valued the company at $50 billion, with the offer continuing through April 2026. The Prime Unicorn Index, however, placed Ripple's valuation at around $26 billion, because the index relies on secondary market trading data and verified primary and secondary transactions rather than company-issued pricing.

Why the Ranking Matters for $XRP

The ranking comes amid growing institutional attention toward enterprise-level blockchain use cases. Ripple's products primarily cater to institutional transactions and liquidity management services, distinguishing it from cryptocurrencies that target retail consumers.
The ranking highlights Ripple's growing valuation and reflects broader institutional interest in blockchain-based financial infrastructure. The placement alongside AI leaders and defense technology firms signals that $XRP-backed cross-border payment infrastructure is increasingly viewed through the same lens as other category-defining private technology businesses.
The Prime Unicorn Index tracks 232 U.S. private companies valued above $1 billion, making a top-ten position a notable achievement for a blockchain-native firm operating in a field still dominated by traditional finance and software companies.
