They let people trade on future events, from interest rate cuts to election outcomes, by putting money behind what they believe will happen. Now, Widi says it is bringing this idea onchain in a new way with WIDI Prediction Markets, the first product of its kind built directly on Solana.

Announced as “coming soon,” WIDI Prediction Markets aims to make prediction data easier to see, easier to trade, and even rewarding for the people being tracked.

What Makes WIDI Different

Widi says WIDI Prediction Markets will be the first and only prediction market tracker built natively on Solana. Solana is known for fast transactions and low fees, which matters when markets update in real time.

The platform focuses on four core ideas. First, users can monitor live prediction activity on Solana. This means seeing how markets move as people place bets on outcomes. Second, users can track top predictors. These are traders with strong track records, similar to following top investors in stock markets. Third, those predictors can get rewarded simply for being tracked, creating an incentive to share insight. Finally, users can trade real world trends, such as economic data, policy decisions, or cultural moments.

Why Prediction Markets Matter Now

Prediction markets are growing as investors look for signals beyond price charts. According to public reports from 2024, global prediction market volume surged during major political and economic events, with election related markets alone drawing hundreds of millions of dollars in activity. This growth reflects a simple idea. When people risk money, their opinions tend to be more honest.

1. Weather and temperature contracts are the most frequently traded
2. Utilities will soon hedge electricity and natural gas contracts using these markets

Prediction markets are already… pic.twitter.com/WUhFIBDCoo

A clear real world example is interest rate forecasting. In 2024, prediction markets often anticipated central bank moves earlier than traditional polls. Traders priced in rate pauses weeks before official announcements, offering early insight for investors managing risk.
