Ripple has partnered with UC Berkeley to launch the University Digital Asset Xcelerator, a six-week program aimed at scaling digital asset products on the XRP Ledger, which started in autumn 2025.
This collaboration represents a strategic effort by Ripple to enhance the XRP ecosystem, with startups having already tokenized $58 million in assets and launched on the XRPL mainnet.
Ripple has partnered with the University of California, Berkeley to create the University Digital Asset Xcelerator under its broader University Blockchain Research Initiative. This six-week program aims to help startups develop products on the XRP Ledger.
The partnership involves Ripple providing engineering support and mentorship, while UC Berkeley contributes with faculty and a network of venture-backed founders. Chris Larsen, Co-founder, Ripple, provided motivational remarks at the closing summit and demo day at Ripple's San Francisco headquarters: Ripple Announcement.
This collaboration has led to the tokenization of $58 million in assets by participating startups. The XRPL mainnet saw multiple launches, setting a new standard in digital asset deployment and encouraging further innovation in the sector.
The financial implications include a notable increase in XRPL ecosystem growth, with XRP prices trading at $2.06. This event highlights Ripple's continued influence in the blockchain sphere, although price changes are not directly linked.
The UDAX program underscores Ripple's commitment to fostering innovation in digital assets. As applications open for new cohorts, the initiative looks to attract "mission-driven founders" eager to participate in this evolving ecosystem.
Potential outcomes include increased technology adoption, regulatory scrutiny, and financial investment. Historical trends show similar initiatives lead to product maturity and a surge in startup confidence, providing a promising outlook for upcoming cohorts.
