Internet Computer's value surged by up to 39%, reaching $4.50, following DFINITY's MISSION70 whitepaper release, proposing a significant inflation reduction plan.
This surge underscores ICP's potential as a market leader with increased volume and attention, though corrections may occur near resistance levels.
Internet Computer (ICP) saw a surge of approximately 19-39% after the release of DFINITY's MISSION70 whitepaper. The document proposes a significant 70% reduction in ICP inflation by the end of 2026, intending to enhance demand by cutting supply. DFINITY Foundation, led by Dominic Williams, spearheaded the MISSION70 initiative. The whitepaper details supply-side reforms, including capped voting rewards and shortened neuron dissolve delays, marking a major shift towards a scarcity-driven model for ICP.
The surge in ICP positions it as a top gainer among the top 100 cryptocurrencies. Trading volume experienced a considerable increase, tripling to $186M-$700M. However, potential for a pullback near the $4.8-$5.9 resistance levels cannot be overlooked. DFINITY's reforms focus on combating token dilution issues, earning bullish sentiment from the community and developers. Significant GitHub activity confirms this optimism, placing ICP in the global top 10 for project engagement over the past month.

Analysts like Dexter Caff noted that the MISSION70 initiative might be a "game-changer" for $ICP holders. As Dexter Caff, Analyst, DFINITY mentioned, "dominic_w from @dfinity just revealed a groundbreaking white paper ICP 'Mission70' reducing inflation by 70% by the end of 6! 972% approximately 2.92%. A potential game-changer for $ICP holders?" Others, like Dao King, suggest it constitutes a tokenomics reset rather than a minor tweak, based on historical and emerging market trends. Despite the price surge, regulatory updates from bodies such as the SEC have not been noted. The market's reaction to potential financial outcomes remains crucial, supported by ongoing on-chain burns and trading volume escalation. Read original article on coinlive.me
