XRP news recently highlighted robust price action as the market experienced a bullish relief at to start of the 2026 season. The cryptocurrency’s performance attracted attention and speculation that XRP could be one of the best-performing coins of 2026.

XRP news headlines today deviated away from price action and into key developments involving Ripple. Recent reports revealed that the network has reportedly struck a collaborative deal with Amazon Web Services (AWS).

The XRP Ledger will reportedly incorporate AWS features, allowing it to benefit from Amazon’s AI services. Initial reports about this latest XRP news revealed that this integration will speed up the process of analyzing XRP Ledger system logs.

This partnership also highlighted the rising integration between WEB3 and WEB2 companies. A theme that has been accelerating and one that underscores the fading barriers as crypto projects go mainstream.

XRP Ledger Network Snapshot

While XRP news recently focused on XRP price action and now Ripple’s strategic moves, it is also important to keep track of the network’s performance.

Ripple increased its focus on stablecoins in 2025, especially with its native stablecoin RLUSD, which saw robust growth. The stablecoin had a $53 million market cap at the start of 2025, but that figure has since ballooned to $1.33 billion.

The RLUSD stablecoin owes its aggressive growth path to a multitude of factors. Robust regulatory compliance and institutional adoption were among the key drivers of that growth.

Meanwhile, XRPL’s stablecoin market cap also surged from as low as $60 million in April last year to $367 million at the time of observation. Its total value locked dropped considerably as the markets contracted from July to December.

XRP ledger’s TVL fell from $119 million at its peak in July 2025 to $62 million in late December 2025. It, however, surged above $80 million by 6 January this year, indicating a substantial confidence spike.

The elevated stablecoin market cap and rising TVL aligned with the weighty expectations behind the XRP Ledger’s 2026 prospects. Analysts believe that this could make XRP one of the best-performing coins of 2026.

XRP News Cast Spot Light on ETFs Amid Large Outflows

XRP ETFs constituted a substantial part of XRP news in Q4 2025. This was largely because the spot ETFs maintained positive flows since their launch. That streak initially looked like it would extend well into 2026, but it was just broken.

This is because XRP ETFs registered $40.8 million worth of net outflows on 7 January. This was the first major outflow event that the ETFs registered since their launch.

The spot ETF outflows contributed to a sharp correction for the XRP price. The latter was down by 12% from its $2.41 weekly top to its $2.11 press time price tag.

This retracement occurred just as bullish hype was building up around the XRP crypto. This led to a disproportionate ratio for longs versus shorts, with the former receiving the sharp end of the stick.

CoinGlass recorded over $18 million in long liquidations in the last 24 hours, against $1.3 million in short liquidations. Positive ETF flows previously bolstered investor confidence. It will be interesting to see how XRP crypto will shape up, particularly considering this latest pivot.
