Ripple has disclosed its decision to steer clear of an initial public offering (IPO), opting instead to nurture its growth trajectory as a privately-owned entity. This decision was confirmed by Ripple’s President, Monica Long, during a Bloomberg interview, where she emphasized the company’s solid financial footing that supports its investment capabilities without the need for public funding. The announcement came on the heels of Ripple securing a substantial investment in 2025, which sent ripples across the crypto industry landscape. The company is focusing on sustained expansion through strategic acquisitions and enhancing its product offerings.

Why Opt for a Private Strategy?

Ripple’s leadership team recognizes the advantages of IPOs, such as enhanced access to capital. However, according to Monica Long, going public is currently unnecessary because they possess sufficient resources to support their plans. This private status allows Ripple to stay agile, making decisions rapidly and flexibly.

A notable $500 million investment round in November 2025 boosted Ripple’s valuation to $40 billion. This influx involved notable financial powerhouses, including Fortress Investment Group and Citadel Securities. Monica Long described the investment terms as particularly advantageous for Ripple but refrained from discussing specifics like buyback options.

How Are Acquisitions Shaping the Company?

In 2025, Ripple embarked on an intense expansion effort, acquiring four major entities totaling approximately $4 billion in value. These acquisitions included Hidden Road, a global multi-asset prime broker, and stablecoin platform Rail, among others. These strategic acquisitions are intended to cement Ripple’s position as a comprehensive solution provider within the corporate cryptocurrency landscape.

Ripple Payments surpassed a $95 billion transaction volume as of November. Additionally, Ripple Prime, bolstered by the Hidden Road acquisition, diversified its offerings with secured lending solutions and corporate XRP options. The dollar-pegged stablecoin RLUSD plays a pivotal role in their financial processes.

“Producing products is at the heart of our strategy,” Long stated, highlighting their aim to fuse traditional finance with blockchain technology.

Ripple is committed to creating infrastructure that links tokenized assets and stablecoins to tangible financial uses. The CEO’s vision underscores their continued emphasis on developing products bridging conventional finance and blockchain solutions.
