Strategy’s stock fell 2.35% on December 31, closing at $151.95 and extending losses seen throughout 2025.
The shares no longer trade at a premium to <a href="https://coineagle.com/price/bitcoin/" rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow">Bitcoin (BTC)</a>, as investors focus on a January 15 decision related to potential index removal.

The stock reached a new 52-week low following sustained selling pressure across the second half of the year.
Over the past six months, it has declined more than 65% from its July peak near $450.
The broader downturn in Bitcoin, which dropped toward $87,000, has amplified downside pressure on the stock.
Attention has shifted from earlier discussions about possible inclusion in major equity benchmarks to concerns over index eligibility.
Under updated rules, companies holding more than half of their assets in digital currencies may be classified as investment funds rather than operating businesses.
Analysts estimate that exclusion from a major index could trigger billions of dollars in passive outflows.
Persistent selling during the final quarter of 2025 has reduced the company’s market capitalization by over $90 billion.
<h2 id="outlook-and-balance-sheet-considerations">Outlook and Balance Sheet Considerations</h2>
Market sentiment around the stock remains cautious amid a broad digital asset selloff and ongoing equity issuance.
The company plans to raise up to $11 billion through at-the-market offerings to fund additional Bitcoin purchases.
Another focal point is the company’s market net asset value, which has recently fallen below one, indicating the shares trade at a discount to underlying assets.
Some analysts note that even if Bitcoin declined toward $74,000, the firm’s holdings would still exceed its liabilities by a wide margin.
They also highlight the absence of margin loans, collateral-backed Bitcoin debt, or liquidation triggers tied directly to Bitcoin price movements.
Reports indicate that institutional interest in the stock has shown signs of recovery despite ongoing volatility.
