BlockDAG Network

BlockDAG (BDAG), the Layer-1 blockchain combining Directed Acyclic Graph (DAG) architecture with proof-of-work consensus, has released new details on its miner onboarding strategy and network economics as the project moves closer to mainnet readiness.

Built to address the scalability and congestion issues faced by traditional blockchains, BlockDAG is positioning itself as a high-performance infrastructure network capable of supporting global transaction throughput while maintaining decentralization and miner-driven security.

A Miner-First Blockchain Design

Unlike many modern chains that reduce or eliminate mining, BlockDAG places miners at the core of its ecosystem.

According to official ecosystem documentation, 50% of the total 150 billion BDAG supply is reserved for mining rewards, distributed gradually over an estimated 40-year emission schedule. This long-term reward structure is designed to:

provide predictable incentives for miners

avoid abrupt halving shocks

support stable network security

encourage sustained participation rather than short-term speculation

BlockDAG’s mining system supports SHA256d-compatible hardware, enabling miners to participate using widely available equipment.

Hybrid DAG Architecture Enables Parallel Block Creation

BlockDAG’s underlying architecture allows multiple blocks to be produced and validated simultaneously, rather than forcing a single linear chain. This parallelism enables:

faster confirmation times

higher transaction throughput

improved network resilience

reduced congestion during peak demand

By combining DAG structure with proof-of-work validation, BlockDAG seeks to deliver scalability without sacrificing the trust model that has secured blockchain networks for over a decade.

Network Performance Targets and Efficiency

BlockDAG aims to support:

confirmation speeds measured in seconds

multiple blocks per second

energy-efficient processing compared to traditional PoW chains

The ecosystem materials emphasize that the DAG-based approach improves resource utilization, allowing miners and nodes to process transactions more efficiently without centralization trade-offs.

Ecosystem Infrastructure and Wallet Development

In parallel with protocol development, BlockDAG is building the surrounding infrastructure required for user and miner adoption, including:

a dedicated BlockDAG Wallet

tools for miner monitoring and reward tracking

developer documentation for future application deployment

community programs to expand global participation

A portion of the token supply is allocated to liquidity provisioning, supporting future centralized and decentralized exchange listings once the network progresses beyond its presale phase.

Presale Phase and Transition Toward Mainnet

BlockDAG remains in its presale stage, with funding allocated toward:

protocol engineering

miner ecosystem growth

infrastructure deployment

post-launch liquidity and listings

Upcoming milestones outlined by the project include expanded testnet participation, additional miner integrations, and the formal transition to mainnet operations.

Positioning BlockDAG Among Next-Generation Layer-1 Networks

As blockchain adoption increases, demand continues to grow for networks that can scale transaction volume without compromising decentralization. BlockDAG’s hybrid DAG–PoW approach positions it as an alternative to both traditional blockchains and pure DAG systems.

By prioritizing miner participation, parallel processing, and long-term network economics, BlockDAG is working to establish itself as a foundational Layer-1 protocol for high-throughput decentralized applications.
