<h2 id="introduction-four-years-in-perspective">Introduction: Four Years in Perspective</h2>
Seasonal Tokens is a cryptocurrency project launched in September 2021, built on Ethereum with Polygon as a low-cost trading layer. The system is designed around a simple but powerful idea: four proof-of-work tokens whose mining rates change over time, creating predictable cycles of scarcity and abundance.
Over the past four years, the project has been tested through both one of the harshest crypto winters and a full cycle of programmed halvings. With Spring’s second halving now complete, we can look back at a complete “seasonal cycle” and ask: has the system worked as intended?
This update reviews the economic data, market behavior, and community participation that have shaped Seasonal Tokens so far — and looks ahead to the future.
<h2 id="we-are-here">We Are Here!</h2>
On September 5, 2025, the mining supply of the Spring token was cut in half for the second time, completing a full cycle of the four Seasonal Tokens.
<img src="https://academy-public.coinmarketcap.com/srd-optimized-uploads/dfbdd30327464065af39bdf72e3e8e28.png">
Each token’s supply is halved every three years, but not all at once. Every nine months, the fastest-produced token is cut in half, shifting the balance of production.
At the project’s fourth anniversary, Spring — once the most abundant — is now the rarest, and therefore expected to become the most expensive.
After four years of continuous operation, we now have a complete cycle of relative price data. The results confirm the original design: reductions in supply consistently generate oscillations in the relative prices of the tokens.
<h2 id="a-technical-experiment-in-cryptocurrency">A Technical Experiment in Cryptocurrency</h2>
Seasonal Tokens represent a notable achievement in crypto design. The system applies Bitcoin’s economic principles to four interconnected tokens, programmed to behave like agricultural goods that change with the seasons.
Such coordination would be nearly impossible across four separate blockchains. By placing all four tokens on the same blockchain, however, they can operate in sync, producing predictable cycles of scarcity and abundance.
<h2 id="risk-management-through-seasonality">Risk Management Through Seasonality</h2>
For thousands of years, agriculture relied on predictable seasons to manage harvests and reduce risks. Even today, identifying seasonal patterns is central to economic planning and risk management.
In Seasonal Tokens, this principle is built directly into the smart contracts. Seasonality is not a matter of chance, but a programmed feature of the system.
<h2 id="proof-of-concept">Proof of Concept</h2>
The historical relative price chart provides clear evidence that the design works as intended, showing the expected oscillations in relative prices. <img src="https://academy-public.coinmarketcap.com/srd-optimized-uploads/8881151bc0154048a337880ed155c750.png">
This chart reflects token prices on Ethereum. In June 2022, liquidity pools were also created on Polygon, offering a low-fee trading environment and producing a similar chart there.
The dotted lines on the chart show the “theoretical values” based only on production rates. Early on, market prices tracked these closely. But as participation grew, speculation and anticipation began to play a stronger role, creating deviations from the simple model. By the fourth season in 2024, Winter’s price rose in advance of its halving, as participants accumulated tokens before scarcity set in.
<h2 id="do-prices-collapse-into-each-other">Do Prices Collapse Into Each Other?</h2>
A common early question was whether token prices would collapse to a one-to-one ratio. Since trading narrows price gaps, it seemed possible that all tokens might converge.
In practice, this did happen briefly — after the Winter halving in 2024, tokens traded at near one-to-one rates. But this situation cannot last. When tokens are exchanged equally, the scarcest token eventually runs out in circulation, forcing prices apart again.
<img src="https://academy-public.coinmarketcap.com/srd-optimized-uploads/2051dd67349141b9b2164a64ba3242e4.png">
Temporary squeezes also occur due to psychology. Before the most recent Spring halving, its price rose in anticipation, followed by another short-lived convergence. These events tend to benefit large holders, who can re-balance portfolios at one-to-one rates.
Yet in the long run, economics prevails. Scarcity always reasserts itself, pushing rare tokens upward until relative values once again reflect differences in supply.
<h2 id="historical-dollar-prices">Historical Dollar Prices</h2>
Looking at dollar prices, the early chart of Seasonal Tokens resembled many altcoins: optimism, followed by decline. The difference is that Seasonal Tokens survived one of the harshest crypto winters and later recovered.
This resilience is due to design. Seasonal Tokens are digital commodities governed only by supply and demand. There was no ICO, no pre-mine, no governance token, and no venture capital. Everyone entered on equal terms. <img src="https://academy-public.coinmarketcap.com/srd-optimized-uploads/4c421d16ccf44c4abca39c46c9fbafeb.png">
The project launched at the peak of the 2021 bull market. When Bitcoin and Ether collapsed, losing over 80% of their value, Seasonal Tokens — paired with Ether — fell as well.
GPU mining initially set the cost baseline around one cent per token. But soon after, FPGA miners entered, producing tokens far more efficiently. This rapid shift drove prices lower. Combined with steady issuance into liquidity pools, downward pressure continued until late 2023, when recovery began — supported by the creation of the Investors Club.
A sharp decline in December 2024 drove prices to their all-time low in March 2025, as some early participants likely lost confidence and withdrew liquidity.
Today, prices have rebounded about 300% above the low, helped by both the broader Bitcoin bull market and the coordinated efforts of the Seasonal Tokens community.
<h2 id="beyond-code-the-role-of-community">Beyond Code: The Role of Community</h2>
Cryptocurrency is not only code — it is a social technology. The rules define the framework, but outcomes depend on how people use the system.
Bitcoin illustrates this well. Originally intended as electronic cash, it evolved into a store of value, Gold 2.0. Proposals to scale up transaction capacity were rejected, and Bitcoin became defined by scarcity rather than payments.
Ethereum followed a similar path. Conceived as a “world computer” for decentralized applications, its largest adoption came through DeFi and NFTs — uses discovered by the community, not dictated by design.
These cases show that social consensus and market behavior are as important as technical rules.
For Seasonal Tokens, this principle is central. Designed as an instrument for risk management, the tokens will eventually serve as a store of value. But in the current inflationary phase, rewards flow to early adopters who trade tokens as their relative values shift.
Here, community participation has been crucial. Through the Discord server, investors organized the Investors Club, a cooperative effort to promote steady price growth and reduce inefficiencies. Instead of competing, participants coordinate to keep everyone in a stronger position.
<h2 id="closing-a-cycle">Closing a Cycle</h2>
Seasonal Tokens launched at the height of Bitcoin’s 2021 bull run. Four years later, Bitcoin is again approaching all-time highs — and a full cycle of the four seasons is complete. With four years of economic data, we now have strong evidence that the system works as intended. The historical charts show how programmed seasonality stabilizes markets against speculation-driven fluctuations.
Even so, the project is still in its early phase. The priority now is collaboration: growing liquidity pools, supporting steady price development, and inviting more people to participate.

One unique feature of Seasonal Tokens is that profit does not depend on dollar prices rising. By trading tokens as their relative values shift, participants can benefit even in flat markets.
At the same time, the long-term outlook is favorable. Supply is coded and decreasing. If demand holds or grows, dollar prices are bound to rise.
The next chapter depends on the community — building, learning, and participating together. The foundation is proven; what comes next is up to us.<img src="https://academy-public.coinmarketcap.com/srd-optimized-uploads/6c374b31c05842be969289ebfbed1c4a.png">
