U.S. spot bitcoin exchange-traded funds (ETFs) recorded $3.48 billion in net outflows in November, marking the largest monthly decline since February. According to SoSoValue, four straight weeks of net withdrawals began the week of October 31, with over $4.34 billion leaving funds during that period.&nbsp;
However, <a href="https://cryptofrontnews.com/crypto-etfs-see-surging-inflows-amid-market-recovery/" rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow">inflows returned in the final three days</a> before Thanksgiving, signaling renewed investor activity. The outflows largely reflect profit-taking by institutions after bitcoin’s rally to all-time highs and end-of-year portfolio adjustments.
BlackRock’s IBIT, the largest bitcoin ETF by assets, <a href="https://sosovalue.com/assets/etf/us-btc-spot" rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow">led</a> the outflows with $2.34 billion exiting in November. On November 18, IBIT experienced its largest single-day net withdrawal since launch, totaling $523 million.
Nick Ruck, LVRG Director, explained, “The spot BTC ETF outflows reflect institutional profit-taking after BTC's rally to all-time highs and year-end portfolio rebalancing rather than a fundamental loss of confidence.” Cumulative inflows remain positive, and bitcoin futures open interest continues rising, suggesting institutions maintain structural long positions while remaining valuation-sensitive amid macro uncertainty.

Ruck added, “New spot altcoin ETFs, including Solana, have attracted modest inflows with elevated volatility, highlighting that institutional capital remains firmly concentrated in Bitcoin and Ethereum until greater regulatory clarity and on-chain stability emerge.”
Institutions continue observing Solana closely, with steady weekly inflows for five straight weeks.
