IOTA

The $IOTA x USA story is a long one. The past cost us a lot. Old $IOTA founders basically took every opportunity to shit on big US crypto institutions and, as a result, we never managed to get a place in the US.
People were screaming for US exchanges all the time. It never happened. Reasons were, for one, the huge costs that came with it, but also the very bad reputation that IOTA had for years in the States. We rarely had big meetings, hackathons, big US institutions, or anything else screaming “US” at IOTA. Dom once shared he was about to get $IOTA listed on Celsius Network, but only after their bankruptcy...
So all of that changed a year ago. Actually, exactly on the 15th of October 2024. Suddenly Dom was very open about flying to New York for the end of November 2024. He never shared what for, but you could feel he was excited about the opportunity. Then another trip was shared at the end of December again. Dom even shared on Discord: “Let’s move to New York, 2025.” In March 2025, more trips were confirmed to Washington and Dom stated once more that the US is part of the strategy.
So it was suddenly clear that the US had become important; however, no one in the community knew a thing. And it seemed like not a lot of people got excited either.
Sharing some alpha here. It’s not a surprise Dom was in Washington and New York. There are other super relevant cities in the States. New York and Washington, however, are a little different. Nevertheless, don’t speculate too much about that; things have changed a lil with Trump.
We then got the whole krakenfx story. Let’s not make it bigger than necessary. Basically, out of nowhere we were promised a listing. It got announced. By Kraken. Then it got canceled again. And then we got reassured it’s still coming. Not that this is huge, but it showed that suddenly things didn’t seem to be this harsh in the US anymore.
Fast forward. Two weeks ago, @Salimasbegum (who definitely is an IF insider and @Cigamatoi and I are pretty sure we know who 👀) shared with us – absolutely coming out of nowhere again – that we are on track to get on BitGo. BitGo is THE custody provider in the US. It is basically a prerequisite to get listed on the top-tier exchanges. It’s infrastructure that is necessary to play in the US.
A week later I went to Token2049 and Ciga and I had a short chat with Dom. We had a pretty basic get-to-know, exchanged stories from the past and what we are thinking about $IOTA and how it’s going to develop. Dom was chill and as down-to-earth and friendly as you can imagine, but he was excited about the United States. That immediately stuck with me. Because for me, $IOTA was EU and Asia. The US was not on the table. But Dom was sharing how $IOTA and TWIN aren’t going to stop at the US borders and how the US is a key part of the strategy.
Maybe I was blind the whole time, but I didn’t have that on my map yet. $IOTA and the US? Sure, reassurance that we work on it, but it being part of the strategy? Part of TWIN? Relevant for SALUS? I mean yes, of course. But do we really have an entrance ticket there?
Seems like we have. Okay, so coming back to Europe and @Salimasbegum is in full force hinting towards US exchanges listing $IOTA. Not just any US exchanges, but the important ones. The big ones. @coinbase and @krakenfx. I mean, it’s coming from her – she knows stuff and she knows stuff long before anyone else could know it. Remember the @KeystoneWallet leak?
Yeah, sure. She knew long before anyone read anything about it. So it seems @coinbase and @kraken are a real possibility.
Then, a day later, another strong sign the US is getting more important. @bondjanebond is joining the IF as CMO – Chief Marketing Officer. Not a European come-up, but an industry-known marketing superstar, joining out of the United States. If you think this is a coincidence, well then… it’s not. Karen didn’t care at all and just immediately dropped bombshell news. She just dropped that “The US exchanges are coming.” Not a single one. No. Multiple.
Yesterday, Salima just did another one. Another hint. This time pointing out @BitGo is just days away and @UpholdInc coming with it. It’s the first time @UpholdInc is publicly mentioned. It’s a big and trustworthy US exchange. As far as I know, there have been long negotiations for the listing, but it took a few turns to finally get there. @UpholdInc is also known for being the first to list assets in the States. They even publicly promote themselves as THE gateway to being early.

So tell me whatever you want. But the Foundation is working for over a year now towards getting a foot into the US and it finally seems like it works.
We will see things moving in the states, i am more confident that ever on that. I am happy that we will finally have a gateway for US retail to jump on board. However i am more excited to see TWIN, OROBO, SALUS and Turing Cert leveraging that step to get on US ground.
It is the biggest economy on the world and we will take our piece of that pie.
It is about time.
Few.
