While Bitcoin’s latest downturn triggered widespread volatility, RUNE faced an additional shock on Thursday after Binance issued a formal delisting notice for its futures market.

The announcement states that Binance Futures will shut down the RUNE/USD Perpetual Contract next week. All open positions will be automatically settled at 09:00 UTC on November 19, 2025, and the contract will be permanently removed immediately afterward. New positions will be blocked starting 08:30 UTC on the same day, leaving traders with only a narrow window to manage exposure.

Technical Indicators Flash Weakness as Delisting Draws Near

Market sentiment toward RUNE has already turned defensive. On the 4-hour chart, price action shows a prolonged downtrend, with buyers unable to reclaim previous support levels. The sharp mid-October sell-off remains a turning point on the chart, and the token has been grinding lower ever since.

Momentum indicators are also pointing toward continued bearish pressure:

MACD shows fading momentum with bearish crossover near the mid-line

RSI has slipped toward oversold territory, hovering around the low-to-mid 30s

Trading volume remains muted, signaling low confidence from market participants

Traders often anticipate volatility ahead of futures delistings, as forced closures can trigger abrupt moves during the settlement window — particularly when liquidity is limited.

What Happens Next?

With Binance winding down support for RUNE futures, derivatives traders will now need to migrate to spot markets or alternative perpetual platforms. Historically, futures delistings can create temporary price distortions depending on the direction of the majority of open positions at settlement.

For now, RUNE remains sensitive to broader market trends, and with Bitcoin still struggling to stabilize, confidence in altcoins continues to erode.

More clarity on market direction is expected once the delisting window approaches and forced settlements kick in — a period that often produces heightened volatility.
