Two primary Chainlink wallets deposited 18.75 million LINK to Binance, worth approximately $387 million at the transfer's time, marking a significant token unlock and market event.
The involved addresses are attributed to the Chainlink project. Sergey Nazarov and Steve Ellis have not issued any comments on the moves through official channels. Arthur Hayes, Co-Founder of BitMEX, remarked, "Team-driven liquidity events often trigger volatility, and the recent LINK movement is reflective of market reactions to large-scale unlocks."
The LINK price dropped over 21% following this transfer, indicating a substantial market response. Trading volume spiked 674% above the 24-hour average.
Financial markets witnessed increased volatility, with the sudden supply increase. Liquidity and staking flows showed reactions to this shift, affecting various DeFi protocols.
This move may impact connected DeFi protocols, including Aave and other Chainlink-integrated platforms. Market observers noted potential influences on related assets.
Regulatory and technological outcomes of such large transfers remain observables, with similarities to past token unlock events. Historical data show that prior supply unlocks led to temporary volatility, eventually leveling as markets absorb changes. Read original article on tokentopnews.com
