Bittensor

when

Zcash

Every bull run seems to bring new debates about which projects will survive the next market shakeout. One analyst, who goes by the name Pri τ (@Pritensor on X), called out Bittensor ($TAO) and compared it directly with Zcash ($ZEC).

Pri τ began by praising Zcash for what he described as “outstanding performance” while accusing the Bittensor community of growing emotional and overly defensive. According to him, $ZEC has surged strongly in recent months, while $TAO holders are struggling to accept that their token may already have peaked for this market cycle.

He highlighted the contrast between both tokens by saying, “These two charts could not be any more different.” To him, $ZEC represents a disciplined comeback story, while $TAO shows signs of what he called “pump and dump” behavior. His argument is that every rally in Bittensor has been followed by an even steeper fall, suggesting an unstable price pattern rather than sustainable growth.

Why Pri τ Believes Bittensor Has Peaked This Cycle

Pri τ’s criticism goes beyond short-term price moves. He argued that Bittensor’s community has become too focused on long-term promises and lofty predictions of $1,000 to $3,000 targets. He described this mindset as “hopium,” claiming it ignores the realities of market cycles.

He stressed that no altcoin can escape severe losses once a bear market begins, stating that “no project survives a bear market without a huge crash.” To him, Bittensor is showing the same early warning signs as many projects that looked strong during their initial hype phases but eventually declined sharply when liquidity dried up.

According to Pri τ, investors who fail to sell during bull runs often become exit liquidity for larger players. This, he suggested, is exactly what is happening with $TAO. Every time the token pumps, he said, it attracts new buyers hoping for higher returns; only for the price to dump again shortly afterward.

Zcash’s Comeback and the Lesson Pri τ Wants to Teach

While many see Zcash as an older project that lost its spotlight years ago, Pri τ believes its recent run proves that fundamentals can still matter. $ZEC’s privacy-focused model and long-term resilience, in his view, have allowed it to recover far better than expected. He congratulated the Zcash community for its patience and consistency, saying they have achieved what the Bittensor community “dreams of.”

To him, $ZEC’s success in this cycle is evidence that even older projects can outperform newer ones when sentiment shifts. He urged traders not to get trapped by tribal loyalty, warning that emotional attachment to a project can be dangerous when the numbers tell a different story. His comparison between Bittensor and Zcash was not just about performance but about investor behavior, how communities respond when the market turns against their token.

What the Debate Means for Crypto Investors

The clash between $ZEC and $TAO highlights a broader question many investors face: should loyalty to a project outweigh data and market cycles? Pri τ’s comments remind everyone that crypto markets move in waves and no token, no matter how innovative, is immune to the laws of liquidity and profit-taking.

While his claim that Bittensor behaves like a “pump and dump” project may sound harsh, it raises an important discussion about overconfidence in any single narrative. Projects rise and fall, but communities that stay grounded in reality tend to survive longer. Zcash’s steady comeback shows that time and patience can sometimes outperform hype.

Crypto markets often reward those who keep perspective rather than emotion. Whether Pri τ’s prediction about Bittensor proves correct or not, his warning echoes a truth that traders have learned over and over again, markets have no favorites, only cycles.
